Looks like plants need to be fed tbh
I've been trying my best to keep them well fed without over feeding. I think they are looking pretty healthy at the moment but will keep a close eye, reading the leaves as I just I've switched to flowering.

Here are some before and after photos of my HST session one and a half weeks ago:

Hey man! I've been a bit swamped over the last week so didn't get a chance to post, but I took many photos. I decided to go ahead with the topping, since to me, this project is all about experimenting and getting a feel for the plants. So just after my last post, I topped the older one just on the 6th node. I tried to clone the top with some rooting hormone, but I don't have the right kit and environment to do that properly, the clone is still alive but struggling (It barely has 3 nodes) . The little one, I fimmed out of curiousity on the 7th node just because I wasn't sure if I'll need to top it in case of a failed fim. Within a week the larger one looked amazing and well recovered with two main colas almost as long as the rest of the plant. The fimmed plant was a bit strange, it actually seemed like the main cola kept growing, so I assumed I must have actually missed the fim and the main cola and just nibbed its leaves, so I went ahead and topped the little lass as well (I can't believe I actually managed to miss a fim! ) .

I've been doing loads of foliar feeding, every day, some times more and it looks to be working well. After topping the younger plant, three days later, I switched to flowering 12/12, which was a couple of hours ago. So its been one and a half weeks since topping the older one. Here are the latest pics:

I still can't tell the sex of the older plant yet;

but the younger plant appears to be a female, already preflowering (a week ago:

I'll post some before and after shots of the topping/fimming in the next post...
Just replying to this post, as it is the most recent progress after my 1.5 week update posts. IMG_20200622_154501.jpg
EDIT: Just wanted to add that I have been pumping them with 24-0 lighting since HST them over the last one and a half weeks. Just an extra boost perhaps before the flowering 12-12 stage.

Can they double in size n still have space between tips n lights?...maybe you can still wait a while...just plan on them at the very least doubling in height or maybe even more strain depending

Really good pics of female preflowers...better 12/12 soon if u plan on stayin in that box...
Thanks, I used my smartphone (huawei p30 pro) on x5 optical maginification, looking through a small LED ring light. I just switched them over to 12/12 flowering today. Looking forward to the progress in the weeks to come.

There is definately enough space for the older one to still double in size and have a couple of inches of space in between the tips and the light. I'd rather be safe and switch over to flowering now instead of running out of space completely. The older one might still turn out to be a boy, in which case there will be tons of space for the younger girl. I will be moving out of this house, changing countries in the next couple weeks/months, depending on the lockdown situation so I don't have that much time left to be able to harvest before moving.

just ditch the foil bro, get some mylar, aint doin shit with that, except frying your crop
I'll definately use mylar on my next build once I've settled at my new place. I'm just going to play this one out and let the experiment run its course. It should be decent info for someone that might only have access to foil for whatever reason. Otherwise, its just part of my learning curve.

I'm prepared for anything. This was a lockdown project I should have started with a long time ago, but worst case scenario, I'll just donate the babies to a friend. I'm really hoping to have the oppurtunity to enjoy some home grown bud though.

Exactly 8 and 6 weeks old from sprout now. Not looking too shabby? The younger one started showing some nutrient issues yesterday with slight brown spots on a couple of the leaves, so I boosted with some food; kelp, nitrogen, dolomite. Still not able to do any ph testing, so I'm kind of shooting from the hip in the dark. Otherwise, I might have over-foliar-fed with nutes that are too strong? IMG_20200626_193729.jpg
