Ok so a little run down...400 watt mh about 2 feet away from tops. FFOF soil have not added any nutes yet..They have been in the ff soil for 2 weeks come friday. They started off in some jiffy seed starting soil in jiffy pots (i'll never make that mistake again) and then transplanted into the ff soil. In the past 4 days 2 of my four plants have started this weird color issue. The ph is right around 6.0, could the acidic soil be causing nute lock out? Any help please!!:blsmoke:

ph is a little low for soil although it should not be locking out N

i would say its time to start feeding or you have an unusual phenotype.

i dunno what the run off is...i havent had the chance to get a meter. I have to drive 3 hours to get one! could i use just one of those water testing kits from walmart to get a ball park figure?

Testing the runoff is the most important thing, then you adjust your water to reach the proper runoff ph (mid 6s). Those drop kits are kind of wierd for runoff because of the soil sediment but if you got good eyes maybe you can figure it out. im colorblind so I hate those kits. A good meter will cost you $60 dollars and its a good investment if you keep it clean and calibrated.

ahhh yea i didn't even think of the soil sediment...where do you get ph up and down from? the nearest hydrponic shop is three hours from me and last time i was there i don't remember seing any...if you have a moment to explain could explain to me why the run off is the most important of the two? why is the run off more important than the actual soil itself?

well the runoff is the soil, in a way. When you test the runoff your testing the overall ph both soil and water. This is what your plant is experiancing is the overall ph around the root ball. If you look it up on google they have natural household products that you can find in your area to adjust the ph of your water I cant remember what they are I always use gh PHup and down. Oh yeah and those cheap soil ph meters that you can get at home depot are junk. The best way to check soil ph is through the runoff.

6.0 is too low for FF soil.. why havent you been using big bloom at 1/4 feed every other. I've always found this to help make a nice healthy young plant...and from some experince with FF soil you have to be watering it with a ph of about 5.5 to get it down to a 6.0. I dont think it's the soil, just your water

Glad I ran across your thread cuz one of my plants look exactly like yours.. I'm in my 3rd week today from seed using FFOF as well.. I've read FAQ and couldn't find anything that could relate to how the plant looks.. I hope somebody could help us out bro!!

I forgot to add.. Only one of seven looks exactly like Blazings and they have been getting the same water.. It was the biggest of the group, but I started to LST it so I can't compare sizes, but from what I can tell its still growing but not as fast..

Howbout giving it some nutes? Your FFOF is PH stable. Since you didnt add anything yet i highly doubt it that your runoff will say anything else. Bring your PH up to atleast 6.3 and start a feeding schedule. I start feeding my clones after 1 week of transplant. Anywayz, thats what i would do.

Yeah I just added some vegging nutes at 1/4 strength a couple of days ago and so far the light yellow color hasn't spread more.. The texture of the plant feels a little dry and rough where the yellow area is on the leaves.. Is that the case for you Blazing? I've also been adding stuff to de-chlorinate my water last week.. Hope that helps

hey thanks everybody for all the input and sorry bout not being able to get back at yall sooner my damn computer crashed so i had to get it back running. Yalls advice helped a lot. I'm going to start a regular feeding schedule and hopefully that will fix it up. Thanks again..

D2G, yea man my leafs feel the same way! you said one of your seven started doing this and 2 of my 4 did it. Man hopefully the feeding will recover them. I guess only time will tell. I'll try and keep up with you bro that way if one of us finds the for sure cure then we can share..happy toking in the mean time
