Mystery seeds and Chinese LED's

The other plant seemed to be growing itty bitty balls... so i chopped him the f*ck down! now i've got 1 confirmed female with a bit more room to spread out, and one clone from her that is hopefully rooting in rockwool. I feel like i've been very lucky so far during this grow, being the first in a loong time and with completely different tech
 
I dont think its dangerously yellow. Still, calmag with some iron in it could help with that yellowing.
I'm especially subbed to see even chinese leds can grow good shit.

I've been using the calmag, but i don't know the breakdown of any trace nutes/elements in it. I'm not super worried as this is just a hobby for me and every failure is a lesson learned. As far as the LED's go, I've gone from a 150-200w blurple setup which did great during veg, and have now moved onto 3500k whites on a similar style chip (120v direct wiring) using cfl to supplement. I think they sent the wrong white led's though, as these are only drawing about 30 w each. Anywho, thanks for dropping in from orbit!
 
Some friendly thoughts. You don't need a lot of light or 5gal of water for plants that small (assuming that's a 5gal bucket.)

If you want to run a DWC mom you can do so in a smaller container at a tradeoff of having to water more (gain some space)
I run some moms in DWC (ha not quite) in containers as small as 28oz peanut butter jar with 2" net pots. If you want to increase what you can do in that space I'd look at decreasing the size of that reservoir.

10-20W of cheap LED will keep a small mom (plant that size) plenty happy until its time to take cuts.

Some yellowing on tops in early flower is normal ime you might make a slight increase in feed rate or frequency or let it run as is as it doesn't look totally deficient yet. If you're still running distilled water that might be the source, you're lacking the macro/micro found in tap.

Would the addition of a small amount of tap water help even out the trace nutes? My tap has painfully high ppm and ph so I've avoided it altogether.

I love the micro hydro idea using a pb jar. No need for a massive root ball if it's staying small.

As far as feeding, it's dwc so constant? Lol. I may need to up the ppm (750 this morning) but I like to stay below the gen hydro suggested schedule (calls for 900 to 1300 in 2nd week after flip). She drinks more than she eats though so I don't want to over do the nutes.

She might just want to run a little bit hotter. Try 800-850ppm maybe? Ya If you add back plain water in DWC too many times over too long they'll yellow up really fast. There are claims that reactions don't show in plants for some duration but ime in DWC they react pretty quickly and need to eat constantly. If you do run the micro hydro remember to leave an air gap from the netpot to the water surface (don't drown them) they'll perform better ime with that air gap. You really do have to stay on watering, 5gal can last a lot longer for a given size plant whereas the smaller pb jar you'll be watering daily.

But for reference, i checked out ppm this morning and it had risen to ~830 in 24 hours and she drank almost half a gallon (a guess based on what i added). I have to assume this is normal and one of the reasons they say to stay below the 'suggested' nute schedule.

the cutting/clone is taking its sweet time, but from what i read that's just how it goes with those. I'm misting at least once a day and making sure the rockwool block doesn't get totally dry, temps in 78-85 f range with heating pad on. I'll remember the air gap if i do hydro for it.

Note- added 2 cups of my horrific tap water to get some trace nutes in there. We'll see how she looks in the morning
 
Topped off the water with 1 gal tap, nutes to 1200ppm and ph to 5.8. Hopefully this will get some trace elements back in there.

The stretch is starting to set in and my calyxs clumps are starting to plump. No frost yet. And we are at 6 weeks from seed! Coming along quickly
 
Pic updates. Grow is currently uneventful, but that's fine by me. Bud leaves are curly and I have a few claws as well. Doing a water change tomorrow to hopefully sort out the issue. Any suggestions from the audience?

So I did another water change and have finally moved to the Lucas formula to take care of some nitro clawing. Roots are super, no slime no green, and still growing! Now the waiting game while she pumps up :sleep:
 
Ok, finally a real issue has reared its ugly head: I started with two plants in a single block and killed one because it might have been a male. Fast forward a couple weeks and the stem and roots are finally dying. The root ball is a combination of both plants so a portion of it will be dying soon, some rot stank is already ocurring.

I am/was attempting to run a sterile bucket and even added some h2o2 today to combat the funk. Do any of you fine individuals have a suggestion for mitigating the rot issue? I don't think I can separate anything in the ball without some stress and I'm over two weeks into flower.

So before i started this journal, i had an 18 gal tote with 4 sites, 2 plants each site (because i'm dumb and don't think ahead about things like rot....) After a week or so of growth I found the bucket i'm currently using and transferred the heartiest block to its new home. i bring this up only to say that of the 12 seeds i germinated, all had a tail pop out within 24 to 48 hours. for the incredibly low cost of 4 dollar shipping for a bag of 100 mystery seeds I think this is a great way to find/add some new genetics at a low price point. granted, not all the seeds looked great, but its easy to pick out the obvious duds.

Well I was bad and amputated one of her many arms (weed man wasnt answering)After a quick dry and absolutely no cure time it was about as good as some ditch weed, but with a pleasant heady effect.

I am looking forward to how she tastes once fully mature and properly processed. After touching the buds it has a very nice lemon/citrus scent
