MyJournal- First Grow

This is my first grow so i am going to attempt a combination of DWC/Bubbleponics/Ebb & Flow. I am using a 4 gallon sterilite tub (4 holes cut through the lid to house the net pots), Hydroton, Rockwool Cubes, Water Pump, Dual-line Air Pump (two 8 inch airstones), Airline tubing and T-Bar connectors, 2 clamp lights with 2 cfl bulbs (lumen rating of 3860 and a Kelvin Rating of 2700), FoxFarm Grow Big Nutrients, Superthrive, and an oscillating fan. I have the water pump delivering oxygenated nutrient solution through tubing with a t-bar connector at the end right above my rockwool cube. I have my water pump on a timer for 15 minutes at 3 times a day(light on) and my lights set to a 18 hour photoperiod.

What are your opinions/help on my setup?

Are you using any 6500k CFL for vegetative growth? You also might want to add some more light if you can, "Y" splitters from Home Depot work good if you are tight on space. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Hydro, but it sounds like you have a sweet setup.

After reading your post, I headed over to the local Walmart and found a T8 hood/ballast for $10-15( im not sure which one is which) and 6500K T8 Bulbs for $10. There were some 25 watt 2700K CFL bulbs, but i was skeptical to going the more lights the better mindset( I believe the more light/lumen output per sq. foot is what really matters). I was thinking of either adding the T8 fixtures and hood/ballast and use my other bulbs for supplementation, or switch my two 2700K(3860 lumens) bulbs for the T8 setup completely, without supplementation from the two 2700K Bulbs i am currently using.

I also would like to know the best alternative to squirrelcage fans, inline blowers, etc... i am currently using a standard oscillating fan on low level setting. Is there maybe a certain fan that cools the air it blows into my grow room or is a big gaudy fan a growers necessity. And if i get the T8 Setup, would i need additional air circulation?
