Hey guys,
I have a few spore syringes from Ralph that are just under a year old. One of these (never been used, needle tip is not even on it) has what looks like a small piece of mycelium growing in it. Should I just toss it in fear that it might be mold or can it grow in a syringe like that? It's just a normal spore syringe, I don't know if there are even enough nutrients for mycelium to grow so that's why I fear it being mold. It does kinda look like mycelium though, I noticed it about a week ago and it has not grown at all. They've been kept in a fairly cool area...60 F.
Also, I'd take pictures but I can't find the cord to my camera to connect it to my computer, plus it is an old camera so it probably wouldn't have a high enough resolution to see it.
If I do try it I am going to inject and grow these in a completely different room and glove box and always work with and fan the safer ones first as to not cross contaminate.
Any experiences with this out there? Any thoughts on what to do?
I don't mind having to throw away some jars or a fruiting chamber if it fails.
And yes, I know how cheap syringes are.
