I don't see the problem with fem seeds as long as they're solid. I do think a breeder should at least offer regs along side of fems for those that don't want fems. It's not really fair to say fems are for pussies. I have fems in my garden right now that out performed and produced better smoke than regs (TGA included) that I've grown in the past. I've also had some really shitty fems too. It seems like a crapshoot for both anymore.

The fem seeds are for pussies thing is a joke among friends many who actually grow fem seeds.
It's like a I'm with shithead shirt.

No one will ever convince me its not a short cut but then I am never in the top selling seeds!
The most purchased product in our industry is a 5 pack of Fem seeds and the next 9 top sold products are the same thing.
As I said I take this stance at a HUGE financial cost and the whole point of the post was to clarify MY position.
I am just some pothead with a point of view and also a bit stubborn I recommend everyone buy the top fem seeds and give em a shot and form your own opinion I am wrong quite often ask MzJill :)

Personally i stick to reg seed, you can get so many proven females out of clones from reg seeds, why take short cut ? & gamble with hermaphrodites. Auto-flowering & feminized seeds are anti-nature. ( marijuana is dioecious )

I didn't realize how deep this issue went. I however feel if you sell seeds then you should have regs first and foremost. Fem seeds are for guys like me who have small space and just getting started. But once you get your skills up its time to move quality up as well. I'm slowing collecting reg seeds for when I'm doing my grows with HPS & more knowledge. I have a pack of Nevilles Skunk I was blessed to win! If one wanted to use Nevilles Skunk x with a TGA strain which would be best would you say, I was thinking Deep Purple or Querkle them being the heavier india strains....thoughts?

Feminized seeds are just that. Males (and females) that have been hormonally influenced to give female traits. But they are not all true females, hence the opportunity to hermie faster than a true female.

I have limited experience with them. As I've said, I tried them and felt that the harvest was a little less than a true female. I don't have any extensive experience nor will I, but to each his own. I have no issues with the fem seeds or those that grow them.

I think everyone is entitleded to their own opinion you have yours I have mine which happens to be in favor of fem seeds because of space I can't afford to waste time growing males only to have to dispose of them.

Femenized seeds are like hookers in Hollywood. You're convinced it's a perfect female for weeks until one morning you wake up and find it's balls hanging out!
By then you're fucked and too embarassed to ask for help!​

I can't denies some peoples have succeeds with feminized or auto. But I simply consider that the best way to go is to get some good quality seeds from a good breeder(Subcool,MrNice,Simond), sex to plant, take some clones out of the females, the females are left to complete their cycle to find any potential hermies & kill them & their clone, dry, cure, test product, the clone from your favorite end up becoming your next mother-plant. This may sound time consuming but considering the place my plants have in my life I just can't do differently. Personally i have made some females seeds for outdoor grow ( using the silver thiosulfate method ), I wouldn't care that much if i was finding some hermies breeded seeds in weed i use for making hash. Indoor don't take short-cut growing is a labor of love.

Hey Sub good for you sticking to your guns. TGA beans are practically feminized anyway. Out of 25 TGA beans we tried so far 21 females!

fem seeds are da bomb...better than most pollen chunkers garbage ...but there are some really good regs as well...but fems are just as good...better IMO as more uniform and REAL STRAINS...not just crosses...jus saying

apologies but you are mistaken...femmed seeds done chemically are not any more hermie prone than regs...read up on how it works...the silver blocks copper....copper is needed for ethylene/female plant parts...hence no copper makes male organs from absence of ethylene...this DOES not promote hermaphroditic traits

I have grown fems for years and no herms...quite a few for regs though...but they were high in THAI sat genes

better really kite high? all that research to come to a bullshit conclusion? the reason you stated, is why regs are better than fems straight up, the uniformity and lack of phentypical expression is the whole reason i disdain fems. dont get me wrong i like to get what expect, but all plants are supposed to all be different these minor changes are what drive evolution.

i'm just a purist. femmed seeds seem too Monsanto for me. strong individual phenos, picked from a large number of straight run seed. pre-sex cull, sex'd cull, and final cut. clone. ima old head, i guess.

But what do u do if ur favourite strain is available on in Feminised such as Jamaican Dream or anything from Eva Seeds or Greenhouse??

Would u Stamen-it and start from scratch ??? HHHMmmm, I have wondered about this before ?

old heads like you with all the culling are the ones with clone only strains whose genetics are off the chain.
