I think im gonna get him a airsoft or two, can see my wife bitching at all the little bbs now lol
that's probably better than getting yelled for broken windows, pile of birds, dead neighbors cats, and the like.
edit. Airsoft don't break windows but a bunch of my blinds have little pinholes of light when I pull them down.

the airsoft guns are dinky and have no power... i dont see a problem with him having a decent pellet gun, as long as you are around him with it for the first few months and teach him how to properly and safely shoot....

but then again i grew up around guns; i had my first bb/pellet gun at 5yrs, and got my first shotgun (410 youth model) at 8yrs... never shot anything i wasnt supposed to, or had any accidents.... did eat alot of squirrels though:mrgreen:

Get him the OG Red Ryder BB gun, it's $30 at walmart. Your son is old enough to have one just show him to respect it, I was already shooting a 12g at age 12.

i agree. i was shooting when i was very young. all you have to do is show him that itsnot a toy although they are very fun. wallmart has little 12 dollar locks you can put on the trigger so he can not use it without you around.

\edit:I wanted to ask you about your banner thing. but your messages were full.

i agree with stranger... he's plenty old enough to have a bb gun...
if you don't atleast give him tht... its like giving a 16 yr old a remote control car.
i'm not sure if you know nething about guns... or y ur son wants a gun...
but once he gets the feel of the bb gun... move him up a 410 shotgun
its always good to know how to use a gun :blsmoke:

I think that's the most important part here. the responsibility of a gun. whatever type it is. Every kid is different. I had guns from a young age but was taught the responsibility. there are 30 year olds I know that I wouldn't give a airsoft to. I have yelled at my buddy who is in his 20's who's airsoft I spoke of earlier. Even if I know the gun is not loaded I can't stand ppl pointing em at me.

definately a good call if he has no gun experience; but if you feel he's ready in the future, a 410 is a great starter gun... then you move up to the 12ga... then the assault rifles... wait, im getting carried away here:mrgreen:

and then pipe bombs, and then truck bombs, and then your son becomes the unibomber.

Hey man , if i had a kid id get him an airsoft gun to start, the ones that shoot the plastic bb's like u said. there not as powerful and always make sure he wears goggles while using them, u never want ny accidents, i have 3 airsoft guns but myne are all tweaked to shoot 2wice there maximum speed. i also have a revolver pelet gun which could pierce someones skin easily. I do not recomend getting him a pelet gun especially with c02 very high powered. i've lived around guns all my life the only thing u gotta do is tell him never to shoot nyone, make sure hes always at a distance from his targets and never look in the barrel....

I remember when I was given my first b-b gun, it was the same kind from the Christmas Story I believe. I had amazing times with that gun until it was taken away when my younger brother got a hold of it and shot my window to see if it would break. later on down the line, I bought high quality co2 pistols but got bored with them extremely fast. You could find your son anything from rifles, pistols or even automatic b-b or pellet guns. go online and look some up, as long as you articulate responsibility and actually spend a lot of time with your son teaching him how to properly handle and use the gun, I think you'll be good. my dad always put great emphasis on being responsible and only shooting at targets and that he'd kick my ass if I ruined anybody's property, so I never did.

ive had a real loaded gun put too my head before, deff nothing i would like too experience again.

been there too... but people that will put a gun to your head, most likely wont shoot you or it would've been done... i told him to "use it, or put it back in your pants"... he put it back in his pants... and tried to shoot me a week later, but got my car instead..... "cocaine's a hell of a drug"

i guess i need to step it up then.... i stopped at the modified sks and pipe bombs.... but if i had an old truck around here............
