I just mixed up some super soil in my garage....we had some nice weather here.....but now we had a cold snap and it froze.....do I need to wait until it thaws and has some time to fester again or what?
My Soil Froze......what do I need to do now?

Yup.....its froze, lol......and my bag of earthworm castings and ancient forest humus are a solid block

:O.. what if your plants were their!. that would be a great pic. frozen plant. i would say, let it thaw for a few days.. warm it up a little then repot

I guess I should clarify a bit more what my concerns are.....I know its just fuckin dirt, but when we mix our soil we try to give it a "cooking" period, how far back would this set back the beneficial bacteria and mycorhise? I have planted in my organic mix when it was still a immature and didn't get the best results due to the unavailability of the amendmendments because of the low levels of microherdies. I would prefer not to run into that again yanno.

The ground freezes and each year and still spring comes.
Your certainly not the only one to put WAY to much thought into a soil mix everyone does it but seriously nature survives regardless of our actions

The myco's aren't going to do anything until they come into contact with a root anyway. They don't grow by themselves like the bacteria.
Freezing, the bacteria will either slow way down or go dormant. They will wake back up when the soil is warm enough to plant in. Nature's cool that way. If it's warm enough for the plants, it's warm enough for the microherd.
About all my veggie plants say not to put outside until the soil reaches 72-75*?? Guess you could put it in a garbage can and put it inside the house? That ought to be warm enough to get things going.
Might get things going with your wife also.
Might be easier just to wait for warmer weather.

Right on fellaz, thanks for the advice, I just moved to Montana from Florida so I haven't had deal with alot of the factors I have to consider now all my previous grows in the tropics.
