My Should Have Used a Carport Greenhouse Grow '11

Figured I would do a log so I can at least track my progress and look back to see where I went wrong if and when shit gets weird.

The 1st mistake that I made is getting an actual greenhouse instead of a Costco Carport. The reason that I found RIU in the first place was Doublejj's YouTube videos and he's got the system for sure. On the carport the supports are nearly vertical but on mine its got more of a "traditional" shape so the head room is limited near the sides. I plan on using some cinder blocks if needed but my buyers remorse is a motherfucker.

The footprint of the greenhouse is 10x20 and it 8 feet tall in the center. I got it for $250 shipped from ebay and the same seller has some that are a few feet wider and 7 feet longer for just over $300. I think that would have been a better option but still cant compare to the carport.

Soil:

The mix is

1 bag of Roots 707
2 bags Happy Frog
2 bags FFoF
2 bags Worm Gold
3 cups of pelletized Lime
about 5 gallons worth of perlite

mixed the above and repeated as necessary to fill six 45 gal smart pots. Before anyone calls me out on saying that I filled the smartpots I know that the front 4 are not full but will be topped in the next few days.

The Plants:

The 2 in the back are Mendo Madness from California Bean Bank that I got from a local club. Out of the 12 that I dropped 6 sprouted and these 2 are the only females.

In the pics there are some smaller plants in black nursery pots. Those seeds were from a bag of Hindu Kush that I got from one of the local clubs. They haven't sexed yet but I was going to fill the other 4 pots with the females (positive thinking) but decided not to since it was a seeded nug and I don't want to make it to September and realize Ive got herms.

Instead I just picked up 2 Oaksterdam Sour Grapes clones (elephant purple x chemdawg) x East Coast Diesel and 2 Buddha Cheese clones to round out the 6.

Hopefully I keep posting long enough to post the smoke report. bongsmilie  :eyesmoke:

Hey man, I think that's a pretty nice greenhouse. You have plenty of room for six plants. Just supercrop to get big wide bushes. Good luck, jethead

Looks like a sturdy greenhouse for sure! I bet it works out great for ya! Sounds solid so far, can't wait to see the results!

Thanks for stopping by guys. I guess after seeing all of the crazy tree grows on here I'm just jealous because planting outside or in the ground in my county is against the rules. I'll try to fill it up for sure, hopefully with just enough room to get in with them.

Good luck bro, I think you did well. Your biggest issue will be getting enough ventilation, you may need fans. Should work though. You can always put a few blocks under it if you need to it would add some ventilation too.

Your off to a good start.

P.S. I had a few pounds of Hindu Kush go to some socal disp. a while back, & I had one plant that had hermied just a couple of flowers. I found a couple of seeds in the buds I kept. Same strain as my Avatar pic. You never know! lol!

thanks doublejj. I hope you recover quickly so your wife doesn't sell all of your ladders :) My sister just had her ACL done about 3 weeks ago and she said besides the physical therapy that she is doing the recumbent exercise bike that I brought her is working wonders for her range of motion. She said that it feels weird pedaling so slow but it is helping to stretch out the new parts.

I did see the possible ventilation issues. It has 5 of those little screen windows on both long sides but where I live we do get a couple weeks of 100+ temps every summer and the AC condenser is next to the tent. Later in the summer I plan on rolling up the doors at both ends and putting some of that tan fabric there but I still want to find a solar solution for fans.

So since the clones were from an outside source I sprayed them and the rest of the plants down with Don't Bug Me. Starting next week I will spray with Neem every other week and hopefully keep the bugs at bay. I will be working out some sort of extra light out there that will come on at 4am for now so the clones don't go straight to flower.

Man I am excited to see how this goes for you! I am moving back to Cali in two weeks! Colorado is to damn fucked up! We are not allowed outside gardens at all here and now they want to stop allowing patients to grow for themselves as well. Dispensaries in complete control here and it is sad. N E wayz I am ranting high off my ass, Good luck man!

Thanks Indi. This is my 1st outdoor since '94 and I've never worked with these strains so Im excited too. In my county the rules say indoor or greenhouse only and everything must be in a container. I see the trees they grow up north and hope that some day they will ease up down here.

Haha, or you could move outta SD County...right? Thats where you're at? The thing I can't stand is the 8 oz. posession law in LA County...WTF, I'm growing 6(really 12, for my lady's rec too) outdoor plants and you only want me to keep 8 ounces of it? Yeah, I don't think so buddy...lol...Only 8 ounces per jar curing? Ohh, thats more like it! ;)

I have a major fear of uHaul trucks. I just moved way too much for way too long so its SD for a while but I guess theres plenty worse places.

Update on the Hundu Kush is still no sex showing. This morning I sprayed everything but the new clones with DM MaxFX/Penetrator and although the products are made for indoor grows I have a bunch left over so I will be using DM MaxFX and Folatech twice a week each until I run out. Hopefully it adds to size and branching like inside but since I have no control group theres no way to tell.
