this is pretty much my friends 2nd real grow attempt. since june or so my friend took some seeds that were of unknown strain and started to grow on his second floor deck. he ended up with 5 plants. after awhile of vegging he decided to keep the 4 most devloped plants to focus on and stuck the one that looked most male (it had no side branching and was very tall) and put it in his backyard amongst the weeds, and basically forgot about it. the four plants he chose to keep grew very healthy and he trained them to grow sideways tied to metal stakes curved to 90's. they were very healthy but getting too tall to be covert even though they were trained. so he went out and bought a setup to flower them in his closet. he got mylar for walls and a 600 watt hps system, everything sunleaves. he put them in his setup, and turns out that all four plants were male! pretty lame. So without delay he ordered seeds online. 10 mazar fem. and they came with 5 mazar x afghani. So he needed another setup. he drove the 60 miles to the store and got a 1000 watt mh setup (startn to get expensive now) So he moved the 600 wat hps setup to another closet area that is bigger for flower and put the mh in his closet which is roughly 3.5 ft deep 4.5 wide and 7 ft tall. A nice perk to the move too is the mh ballast is MUCH quiter. so outside his closet has a 6 in flexible tube tied into a 8in to 6in reducer to his 8in intake fan. then air hits a small fan to circulate the air inside the closet. walls are cleanly covered in mylar his light hood is vented with its own 6 in inline fan into the attic and the top of the closet also has a 6in inline fan to exhaust the top of the room. he also keeps the ballst out of the closet to reduce heat. he doesnt have any pics yet but ill post some when he gets them. He has four mazar fems growing in there now. the hps setup is still awork in progress as none are ready to flower.they are so short and the distance between the internodes is like a quarter in. hes a noob. but hes hopeing these four will do very well. oh and the one he put in the backyard ended up being the only female. lol go figure. one big fat cola. hes gonna pick her soon. i know it was a long post but just wanted to throw hisself out there. ive been lurking for awhile and there obviously a wealth of info here on this site. i honestly think his biggest problem now is getting a higher germination percentage. i think 4 out of 15 is pretty low. hes tried paper towel and 3 percent bleach solution in a glass. hes been trying to germinate anything he can get his hands on as he has a shit load of empty space in his blindingly bright closet
