My seedlings

Hey, just growing a few plants and thought I'd get your opinions on how things look so far. I've tried growing before but moved too fast and experimented with the plants with disastrous results.

Herbies Seeds
2 Strain Hunters Money Maker seeds germinated in red beer cups in Fox Farm Light Warrior
1 Northern Lights germinated in a red beer cup in Fox Farm Light Warrior

Envirogrow 8 tube T5 fixture
Gorilla Tent 4x4
Watered about every three days with pH 6.5-6.7
No nutes yet.
2 six inch fans providing a gentle breeze
Temp 81F
Humidity 50-60%

Once they are large enough and before I flip them to flower I will put up my blockbuster air cooled hood with my Hortilux blue 600 watt light. I thought about putting the hid light up now but I don't think the seedlings need it yet. So, what do you think of the growth rate etc.?

Yea, funny thing is this plant is supposed to be the northern lights, pure indica, plant and its leaves are very long and narrow. So, I'm not sure. The other two are strain hunters money maker and are supposed to be 70% indica 30% sativa.

I'd say it's time to transplant...there is a point of deminishing return when growing in the solos...those aren't seedlings anymore IMO...let em rip...g/l

My plan is to transplant them directly into their final 3 gallon pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. Thanks for your help.

Iv just chopped a money maker ....... Nice smoke
Cool, I'm looking forward to it. I germinated these three plant seeds right in the beer cups. I woke up one morning and overnight one of the money maker seeds had sprouted and was about two inches long. It was pushing up against the plastic wrap I had over the cups. It tripped me out. It's the tallest of the three plants. Hope she smokes (they better be female plants) as good as she sprouted lol.

They look a tad underwatered. Good though you're on the right track.

Solo cups are really good to germ in and for the first week, but you should transplant. As roots grow into the cup the seedlings start to require watering more frequently. If you let them get too dry it can lead to problems at this stage, though.

And this recently happened even to me on a few young plants in cups, because at the end of a day I was too tired/lazy to water them and thought Oh they'll be fine for a night.

Yea, I almost let them go too long the other night and decided to water. I'm transplanting them right now and will post pictures when I'm done. I'm putting them in their final 3 gallon containers. I guess I thought they needed more root structure before I transplant, but that's part due to the fact that I screwed things up the last time by moving too fast. Plus I was cutting foliage off by topping them when they were just babies. Not this time, I want a successful grow.

I did as you guys said and transplanted them to their final 3 gallon pots. They were not root bound and they have some nice root structure. Now, to watch them grow. I don't plan on giving them any nutes for at least the next few weeks. They are in ffof so I understand that they have all nutes they need for a while.

The northern lights is in front and strain hunters money maker plants in back. :)

Well, I topped my plants December13, 2014, and they are doing great. I haven't watered for nine days and they are still thriving with no signs of any deficiencies. I plan on topping them one more time before flipping them.

In summary, my single northern lights plant and two Strain Hunters Money Maker plants are growing in 3 gallon pots in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. They are in a 4x4x7 gorilla tent with a 600 watt Eye Hortilux Blue bulb under a Sun System Blockbuster Gen 3 6" reflector. The grow light and tent are being cooled by pulling air through a Phresh carbon filter (not hooked up yet) and exhausted out through the attic duct with 6" ducting. The Hydrofarm 6" fan is mounted on the celing outside the tent and is maintaining the temp at 68-82F under the light. I have an oil filled electric heater in the room that I turn on before lights out. It's been really cold and dry lately so the humidifier is keeping the humidity level between 35-50% under the light. I have the tent doors open since there is no need for odor control at this point in veg'ing. They have two 6" fans blowing on them and the air is being recirculated constantly. If you have any questions about equipment set up or anything else feel free to ask.

Now for the fun stuff. Today is day 38 of this grow. Initially I wasn't going to top my plants, I was going to leave them grow without any defoliation. After making sure they were healthy and growing strong I decided to top the NL plant above the 5th node and the SHMM plants above the 7th node. Six days later I topped them again. They are getting all their nutrition from the soil, and I hadn't planned on providing any additionIal nutes until a couple weeks before flipping them, which is coming soon.

The plants themselves are doing great. The NL is 11" tall and the SHMM plants are both 8" tall. The nodes on the NL are further apart but the plant is very uniform and strong. The nodes on the SHMM plants are compact. I believe after topping them two times I counted about 11 bud sites on each plant. I'll have to look at that closer. I have to say, I'm really excited, but a bit nervous about adding nutes. I definitely will continue to take things slow.

What are your thoughts on when I should flip them to flower? Any thoughts on defoliation? Etc.

At that age I usually have them on nutrients and they do just fine. You might consider running half strength the first time and see how they react if you're worried. Looking good though! :bigjoint:

Yea, it's been three weeks since I transplanted them come Saturday so I'm gonna start off with a quarter strength nutes and go up from there I have a tds meter so should be a no brainer. What growing medium do you use?

Northern Lights is a pure Indica strain. My Strain Hunters Money Maker plants are a hybrid 70% Indica and 30% Sativa. Original Master Kush x Hindu Kush x Skunk. I've never tried "mango" yet. I can't wait. :)

Ok cool, I've been considering them to keep the brand the same.
I dont have a ton of experience, but from what I have read thats a good idea. Usually the products these companies work together to offer you the 'complete package', where mixing nutes and soils might give you too much or too little of something if the companies had different ideas/opinions on what the products needed to offer.
