My Second Grow - Story with a good ending

I joined up here a long time ago and I started to grow my first plant to see how I would do. Well I had troubles and that plant ended up being a male and I BBQ'd it o_O

Anyway, I had to focus on some work and had some personal problems and didn't try again at that point. Almost a couple months ago, I decided to give growing my own plants another go. I ended up with a nice cabinet and used my custom CFL grow light setup, and started 4 plants this time. 2 of them turned out to be males and I destroyed them at once. One of the two girls grew lanky and weird, but I narrowed that down to my bad topping of the plant early on, and also likely bad genetics. I got it growing just for the fun of it and its producing some tiny buds and its good for a laugh compared to the other girl  The second plant...has grown really well. I topped it early on perfectly and she is growing amazingly well. And the smell...goodness gracious I've never smelled anything so nice before.

I've followed everything here and thanks to Rollitup and all you cool guys, it looks like my second attempt at growing will be a success.

I'm sorry the photos aren't so great...I just wanted to share and get some feedback. I hope that with my next batch they will be even better. I didn't want to grow 6 plants at once....I thought I'd grow 4 just see where I go.

In anyway, smoke em if you got em and cheers! :bigjoint:

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…

After that you are a seasoned vet. Because to soak up all that information and sift through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.

If I may offer an opinion...I personally grow feminized seeds, never grew a male.

She looks very good...challenge yourself...do better every time you grow and you will be rewarded immensely.

Actually I am not sure why I have a few burnt tips because the light never gets close at all to the leaves. I fertilized this plant only once in the vegetation stage and now only use pure water. Those tips were the only ones and the rest of the plant looks good. I didn't know about the dark green color and that result from too much nitrogen. But this plant always had a dark green color from the time it sprouted. Possibly genetics?

Thanks for the tips and the comments guys.
