Well this is my second grow, and things are going okay,my issue is that I'm in my 8th week of flower and I don't have a smell. It is a 9-11 week strain of blackjack from nirvana Im ph'ing my water to 6.0-6.5 adding my nutes measuring rite but no smell. My first grow I messed up cause I pulled it at 7 weeks, dumb move looking at calender wrong. But this one im taking my time to make sure im doing erthing rite but arghh no flippin smell. Ive read and did my research but arghh.:-( If anyone asks I veg'd 4 weeks am using Cfl's 6(300w equiv.) 9(100w equiv.) until my 600 hps gets here and the full line of earth juice nutes except for meta-k replaced it for hygrozyme w/ sunshine mix #4. So if anyone can help me would appreciate it dont know wat im doing wrong. Erbody in forums that ive seen grow this says its fruity I want fruity pebbles TOO. The only thing I can say i have a problem with is my RH since it is freezin outside the the RH in my house is only at 30%with my humidifier can get it up to bout 35% so HELP:lol: Here are some pics. The plant was fed after the pics were taken that's why they look droopyIMAG0061.jpgIMAG0062.jpgIMAG0063.jpgIMAG0064.jpgIMAG0065.jpg

she looks almost ripe. im not sure if the drooping is normal though. gonna have to ask someone more experienced, havent dealt with this stage yet.

i do know that the plant will smell A LOT more when youre cutting it down, so dont worry about that.

the best advice you have given yet.... "gonna have to ask someone more experienced...", How do you know that it will smell a LOT more when cutting? have you done this yourself?

OP
Not sure, what have your temps been? Can you smell anything from touching the stalk? I know that higher temps will cause plants to smell more.... Your humidity is fine for flowering stage.. how is your water/feeding schedule? The plants look over watered a bit, since you probably do not have heat issues, and you need the cfl's closer to the sides of the plant until you get you 600 watt light.. though not sure how much more you will yield given the late flowering stage. You will definitely love the next grow with the 600 though... see my sig and join the group!

cause a plant always smells more when you damage it, whether it be from heat (like youre suggesting) or from cutting and plucking. (plus, i read that this will be the time that they smell they most, so you want to setup saftey mesasures) :p

and yes, i have broken my plant once, right in half and it stunk up my room for quite some time. i also plucked some leaves off, and it smelled the most then too.

If anyone asks I veg'd 4 weeks am using Cfl's 6(300w equiv.) 9(100w equiv.)>>>

>>>So you're using 400W equal spread out over 15 bulbs?. You have almost zero light penetration on the entire bottom half of your plants. CFL's need to surround your plants at different heights b/c they don't penetrate far enough.

well, a lot will smell more when chopped... like a 'plant' the dank will not be nearly as strong as in flowering. I know cause I had a very smelly plant that I chopped and the smell decreased dramatically... but I chopped and left all leaves on so it started a 'cure' process during the later days of hanging dry... the smell came back a little. When I cured the buds and opened the jars (specially after a week of curing) then the dank was back in force! So this is from my experience with an unknown strain (smoked good) that was pretty strong during flowering. Long time growers of multiple strains are best suited to answer this question.

They do look a bit overwatered, I use 500W equivalent and never have droopy plants. And I should have joined your group 2 months ago. I run 2-600 MH/HPS at a diff. location...and wow!. 7 weeks veg time, and I have one strain at a 5' height. Although I still like my CFL set-up, but only cuz' I can supplement with actual sunlight year-round.

Edit: I have one particular strain that is very low odor, it's a NL strain.

Peace

My buddy harvested his plants just 4 weeks ago. I didnt even know he was growing plants. NO ODOR!!!! I was at his house 3-4 times a week while he was growing, even in the bedroom he was growing in, and i never smelled a thing. My plants are almost 7 weeks old from seeding them in rockwool, and Im smelling them already. The one i topped today today stinks so good. Im no expert, but like i said, ive seen plants go the entire living cycle to harvest and didnt smell them at all. Just my 2...

Okay guys temps with lights on are between 75&79 degrees, and off between 68&71 degrees. when I touch the stem or buds smell is great, but like my last grow same thing even tho i pulled too early same issue with smell chopped it put in a box to dry and poof what lil smell I had after a few days of drying smelled like box cured for bout two weeks a lil goodness came thru but not what i was looking for. Ive read thru so many forums on growing, drying & curing I mean erthing. SO many ppl say they have the dank smell all the way thru growing drying and curing, i've been looking at the trichomes and they are bout 60-40 clear to cloudy waiting on 50-50 cloudy amber. so i guess we will see in bout a couple of weeks.
