Looks great. Make sure you have good drainage in the bottom of the bucket. Your plant’s roots are plenty big enough for that 5 gal….but the biggest problem I had with plastic containers was the soil taking forever to dry, which was my fault for putting small plants, with small root systems, in too big of a pot in the first place. Again, shouldn’t be a problem as your plant is thriving and should fill that space with roots.
Good luck and I would def listen to the advice on spraying for various insects. It seems like every critter in the wild is drawn to the plant….and do you blame them?

Thank you. I’ve been looking around trying to soak up as much as I can. Def going to pick up some BT in the morning and start them on a schedule. Our weather has been pretty good so far this summer. Lots of sun, surprisingly low humidity, so moisture hasn’t been an issue at all. Im just letting them talk to me and tell me what they need.

Bought some BT Sunday. First application Monday morning. Still some flying bugs, but I’m sure that doesn’t go away after the first application. They sure are getting thirsty as well.

Your plant is doing great. ;) I use self made yeast into my tea. Basic wheat flower into water preferred rainwater stir every day up to three days when it turns into yeast the longer you keep it the better it will become. Why wheat flower? Wheat has the basic nutrients potassium phosphorus nitrogen already, the yeast itself actually are the organisms. Promoting good bacteria fungus that turns those nutrients into plant food. You could also introduce earthworms into your soil.

Thank you! I honestly wouldn’t have even thought to research that. Thank you for the compliment on the grow as well. I’ve been a slight helicopter parent watching them as much as possible.

BTK kills caterpillars, BTI kills gnats, theres a big difference. Also read up on bud washing, peroxide or lemon juice and baking soda for mold, bugs and bug poop. Looks good so far.

No Gnats. Just basic flies. I’ll def do some research on bud washing…didn’t even know that was a thing.

Yup, i always wonder if the oil slick on top is the surfactant from foliar spraying.

Update : they’ve been in the 5 gal pots for about 6.5 weeks now. Temps have been pretty warm but humidity low for us 45-55%(usually around 70ish). Watering has increased to once every 1-1.5 days depending on temp. Been using BT consistently and they’re looking good.
