Hi Guy's,

Just got a question for you all. Planted around ten autos last week in my patch and when I came back the were stripped back to the stems??

Not a leaf or tip on them??

I have a big fence that is pegged real good to the ground so no animal's could get in. There's not a scrap of leaf on the ground, no animal shit,no tracks in sight. Inside or Outside the fence? Theres no way in for roo's or any-other animal?

I'm assuming it's maybe grasshoppers but I would think they would leave a bit of evidence behind. I don't have a clue? Fucken ate the lot

I looked for evidence of slugs and snails and NOTHING?

Not one bit of stem was touched just the leaves and tips?

Any ideas what it is??
Whats your take on it?

Yeah that's what I mean LOL I can't work it out, It's got me stumped? If a roo was getting in he would at least pull one plant out or
eat the whole plant (stem and all) but there's no way in and the fence hasn't been touched so I'm asumming it's not a roo.

Even if it was grasshopers you think they would eat them stem and all? I cant work it out, maybe a bird?

Yeah that's the thing. There very bad down here thats why I don't understand why they didn't eat the stems and all?? Not one stem is touched.

They uselessly show up after some rain and we have had nothing were I'm at. Hmmm....

Maybe it was kids who thought they could get high from the leaves?

Sorry to hear about your loss. On the bright side, you've got the growing season coming up, right?

Yeah bro just put in a few auto's for a bit of smoke LOL

Just about got all my beans, waiting on one more order from SOS and i'm good to go when the times right :)

Still this shits playing on my mind because I will have to find a new spot if I can't work it out. I've got ten more autos ready to go next week so I'm going to spray animal repellant around the fence line and long life pyrethrum on the plants and see what happens. If it happens again I'm fucking straight out of there. Don't just hate that shit but?

Fuck I put some work into this patch. Massive holes already dug for the upcoming season, all prepped and ready to roll. Fuckkkkkkkkk.....

grasshoppers/locusts or slugs. Prolly slugs tho... they rarely touch the stems.

diatomaceous earth next time....

I have seen that done to plants by rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels too. but they usually nibble on the stalks as well. Next time use the D.E. or make slug traps. Aside from fencing, there isnt really much you can do about the squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits tho. Maybe spray some fox urine around the area.... That'll keep varmint away, but will need to be reapplied after a rain, same as the D.E.

Maybe invest in a trail cam?
Yeah I was thinking about that and I'm seriously considering getting one. I Got some D-TERE I'm going to spray around the plot and long life pyrethrum (20 days for the plants) so I'll see what happens with this lot.

Can't see it being a rabbit as they can't get in and we don't have chipmunks or squirrels.

We do have possums but like I said I can't find any droppings or tracks anywhere (still that's a possibility).

All I can do is try again and see what happens. I hate to have to move as I've done all the hard work for the upcoming season, but if I have to, I have to.

I'm going to make another spot in another area anyhow, just to increase my chances this season. Luckily I found this all out with just auto's and not my good beans!!

Thanks for the input guy's much appreciated and let you know how the next lot of auto's goes.

Peace
