Nice to see you.
Peace as always. Just my 2 cents of nothing. LOL.
I just used basic pots , right now it’s in a big one .What type of pots are you growing in? Fabric or poly?
Started in paint cans. LMAO. Happy to help. I did hydro for too long. Grow in my own over the counter mix and have never been lazier in my hobby. All I try to demonstrate. I'll share. I grew in a 15 gallon poly last fall using a compost, soil mixture. I had to water that plant maybe once a week when I was finishing her up. Colder temps and 12 hour days made me worry about root issues but nothing happened. For awhile I actually used seedling mats around the pot to warm her roots up a few degrees which seemed to either increase her thirst or it simply evaporated the moisture out of the pot. That's probably your answer. Most people grow in 3-7 gallon pots that need watering every 3 days or so. 20 gallon going to hold more water and evaporate slower.

Give it a couple runs. Hope you still enjoy growing then. Not my fortune. When yu come back to the true expert, "Mother Nature", or close I can help.I’ve got a hydro set up , I just don’t have the set up ready yet, so just the one for now.
Pot material affects the actual core drying of your medium by its density. Hence your pot may be bone dry, or appear, yet saturated in the root mass. Provoking over watering and further root issues.I grew in a 15 gallon poly last fall using a compost, soil mixture. I had to water that plant maybe once a week when I was finishing her up.
