My plant stretched like crazy

So I have a nirvana special strain that I am growing, I put it in my flowering room when it was 17". Within two weeks it had grown to 38"! After that I had went on vacation for a week, when I came back it had stretched to 56". I have since then tied string across the room and tied it down. My question is right now it is in a three gallon pot, should I transplant it to a five gallon pot?

with a stretch like that I would assume its not going to yield much. I would look into a strain that has a shorter genetic profile

I'd leave the buckets alone.your already 3-4 weeks into flowering. The streching should stop and then just continue on with the 3 gallon buckets

is the 3 gallon filled with roots? i regularly transplant my plants to larger containers when they fill up the 3 gallons. if you'd like you could do it to one and see what you think for next time, or you could transplant all but 1 of them. Either way i say if the roots have filled the 3 gallon its time to move up, i dunno why but some people have this phobia of transplanting in flower, i do it all the time and its perfectly fine, i would do it within the next week or 2 if i was you, the sooner the better because it will be able to have as big of an effect as possible.

Yeah it looked like a dang chrismas tree before I bent her down. It stretched so much that the one day I went to check on it and it had grown three inches above my HPS. I usually like to keep my plants around the three foot size, but this was a seed from nirvana's indoor seed pack. The roots still have room to grow seeing how I transplated it right before I flowered it. Just to give you anodes of my set up, my flowering room is 4'x4'x8, and I am using a 400w MH and a 400w HPS. I am also doing all organic, using a super soil.

omg! that plants a monster..lol..yeah,for sure re-plant it start with a minimum 5gal bucket,or bigger for any plant the more room u give the roots the better..i would go with a 10gal for anything that is 3ft or more...amazon.com sells nice 10gal nursery pots that are @ $6.00 a piece...

When you say stretch do you mean just the stems or did it keep filling in too? Can you post a pic?

If I were in your shoes I would transplant to a 5gal or 7 gallon bucket or bag. Try to be very careful and dont stress the plant.

Get some phosphoLoad, it's expensive, but I only use it for 3 days and it helps a lot. Just give it to your flowering plants when they get the height you want them to stay at. A buddy turned me on to it and I think it works. but like I said it's about 50 bucks for the small bottle. So it's not for everyone....JR

Correct me if im wrong people but this is just suggesting a little help im not sure what his problem is:

Your current problem may be:

a) Your using an underpowered light for the marijuana your trying to grow - try something more powerful like an hps found at your local hardware store for a couple hundred bucks.
b) You have came across something that you have been scammed on if you have the correct lighting and you planted the seed correctly etc etc... -.- sucks to be you buddy, good luck next time maybe look into your seed seller before you purchase it. Could be a dud!

But believe me, you are preaching to the quire about dud seeds, The last three I have tried blew for me.. Again welcome. JR

Just so you all know all the othe strains I've grown I have had no problems with. I have plenty of light for the space that I am growing in Project Arc, and about the straight it isn't a great strain for everyone it's pretty much a pure sativa so this is gonna be a long grow, it also explains the stretching. Soundes like to me that nirvana threw this strain in thier mix pack to get rid of them. I wish I could post some pics but all I got is an iPhone and it won't let me, or I just can't figure it out. I also just transplanted it to a five gallon bucket. It was perfect timing, the roots had just reached the pot. If anyone has some pointers on posting pics with an iPhone please let me know.
