You'll just have to keep plucking balls to prevent them from pollinating your plant...only thing you can do...and yes you can still smoke itHey my plant is a hermie, i just pulled the "balls" off. can i still use it to smoke? what do i do??? help asap PLEASE!!
Thats kind of accurate. A stress hermie to make femanized seed, is due to outside above average stress. People used to ( and I'm sure many still do) inflict purposeful stress to a plant to force it to hermie, but to better the odds of the fem seed, you then use that hermie pollen on a known female. If yur hermie was from light (as in easy) stress, it's offspring will carry over the hermie trait, especially if it was on itself.I had a hermie too. Grew it all the way till the end. I hear most of the seeds are fem. Thats if the hermie is a stress hermie. I plucked off as many balls as I could, sadly it pollenated and the ratio of bud and seeds is ridicuolous. there are just so many seeds and barely any bud. If I ever get another hermie, Im ripping it out and not gonna waste my time on it. the plus side I guess is that I got a bunch of seeds that I HEAR are fem. so I guess thats a plus.
its really up to you what you want to do. if its your only plant you may as well let it grow, but if you have a flowering room full of plants you really should get rid of it before it pollnates everything.
its my first and only!! i dont know how it was stressed??? its not totallly balsy lol has a ton of white hairs... i just started the 12/12 bout 2 weeks ago. idk i hope something comes outAlso to the op, if your in late flowering and just seeing hermie "nanners", you should be ok even if you miss plucking a couple. It takes a week or 2 for the nanner to open and pollinate. If it yur only plant, as massah said, pluck away and smoke it when it's done. If it one of many plants, it's a risk to keep it around your others.
Definitely continue this course of action!! you will have some good smoke still, most sativa dominant strains are prone to being hermies and are amazing smoke!!You'll just have to keep plucking balls to prevent them from pollinating your plant...only thing you can do...and yes you can still smoke it
I just discovered one of my blackjacks was throwing out a few bananas. It bugged me for an hour, but I got over it.
what is a dutch master reverse? lol i smoke dutchesIt might not be stress that caused your hermie. It could be genetic. I say keep growing it where it's your one and only, trying to keep the manners plucked (gonna find more and more as time goes on). I have never used it, but some say Dutch
master reverse can help, but I think it's more for a stress hermie. If you end up with seedy buds, it's all good. Free beans to get more practice with growing before you take the plunge to buying seeds. Just be sure to clean your room well between grows to eliminate the chances of any stray pollen getting on your next crop.
Dutch Master Reverse will put an end to all male traits expressed in a female plant. Clones taken from the plant can be treated once also, and then all thereafter will be fine. good stuff if you need it.
Smoking a hermie that has created pollen sucks. smoking a treated hermie might suck too. I've smoked a beautiful Tahoe OG that hermied right into flower, already had twenty rooted clones cut, treated it all, never see balls again, and the smoke was awesome. you apply it to leaves, not flowers. its a natural plant hormone. I used 1 cup of the whole bottle. you'll need Saturator too, may as well get a bottle of Liquid light too, now you have a master formula for foliar feed for a year !
peace
well 1 of the balls turned in to bananas im asssuming there all gonna turn into them so im just plucking em . and honestly i have no idea what strain it is. i took the seeds out of a bag i bought awhile ago. it could b mids to good bud all i know is i see ALOT of pistols/white hairsit depends on what type of hermi you have. If you have a "ball" (genetic) hermi... I'd get rid of it pretty quick. If you have a "banana" (stress induced) hermi I would just pluck off the bananas. the balls will spread pollen very easily. the bananas will just pollinate their local area... and they need time to do it. 2 days ago, I just discovered one of my blackjacks was throwing out a few bananas. It bugged me for an hour, but I got over it. I'm just monitoring it every day. I still haven't seen any signs of seeds (nor have I seen new bananas). There's also a product called reverse (which works with another product called saturate) made by dutch masters. if you get a hermi and are worrying about seeds... reverse will stop/prevent seed formation... though you have to be careful about using it later in flowering.
reverse and saturate can also help turn a stressed caused hermi back to normal. I use these products.
