My outdoor grow

So I tossed a couple seeds out in the corner of the backyard along with a bunch of leftover vegetable seeds. No special treatment like soaking in water or germinating in paper towels. Just tossed the seeds on top of the pine needles and cones and watered. Here is the result so far.

Noticed this gal a couple weeks after sowing.



So far so good. Some bug damage but otherwise growing just fine.



This was basically just an experiment to prove what I already knew. Cannabis is a weed, is easy to grow, and will grow on it's own. No fancy nutes, just natural soil, light , and water. Plant looks as good or better than many of the posts on this site where people are constantly fussing with their plants or over complicating germination, etc....

Looks good so far...
Fyi....those fancy nutes is to get the most out of your plant vs. Simply just growing it. Yes it is a weed and is very easy to grow but those nutes you speak of makes the difference between getting a couple oz. If your lucky or getting 5 pounds like I do a plant.
With that said... hope your plant is female and does well.

I’d get it out of that soil bud, doesn’t look like it drains well but maybe I’m seeing it wrong.

I agree and disagree. Yes it is apart of that family along with many others. It has several cousins.
As far as cannabis goes tho...it's sister hemp is considered a weed in places like ks where it grows everywhere and takes over everything including yards. So if marijuana was to become wild I'm sure it would do the same thing.

I'm going to leave alone. I'm not concerned about yield or anything. I want to see what it does just growing on it's own without any help from me other than the occasional watering.

Maybe cannabis isn't a weed but it grows like one.

I’m not telling you this for yeild I’m telling you it for it’s health. Every stress factor you add increases your chances of your plant hermin out. Plus if you get root rot it’s over for her. Just trying to help. Good luck man hope it goes awesome.

I appreciate you trying to help but I think you're missing the point. I am doing this as an experiment to see how well the plant grows left on it's own. I grow plants for a hobby. I grow a vegetable garden and tons of flowers as well as cannabis. I've been growing for over thirty years and gardening since I was a child. I know how to grow and I get excellent yields of high quality bud. I'm currently doing a seed run making crosses of landrace strains to create my own hybrids. The cannabis is not going to be any more susceptible to root rot as the other plants like the squash, pumpkins, corn, and tomatoes growing along side it in the same location. It's actually growing better than some of the other plants that I seeded the area with. The tomatoes I transplanted but started from seed.

Update on the girl. She's growing well considering the medium is basically pine needles. I thought about feeding some nutes but changed my mind. I might give her an application of neem to keep the bugs at bay but that will be it. I don't think it's doing bad for just tossing a seed on the ground and walking away. But that's how I started thirty or so years ago. Planting bag seed from Colombian in the ground. This seed came from a cross of Ketama and White Russian I made. Should yield about a pound.

No i appreciate the content and liked the photos. Above is also a picture of a vegetable bed, lettuce and stuff.

Stop the hate Lol...I don't actually get all the haters. The most important thing about growing the sacrament is to actually grow it. So long as there is anything smokeable when it's all done you've had a successful run...We can all always do better...But if your actually growing...Roots in the ground as I like to say...Well who should have anything bad to say about that ever...I love my plants just like they are my children...Of course I do get a bit disappointed when I compare them to the likes of ganjagirls...But my kid won't be getting into MIT either.. And well at least with the plants every grow is a new grow... Lol
