I've been having some bug problems lately with my outdoor garden. So with the advice from CrazyHazey I have created my own bug organic repellant. I'm just missing some Marigold, but will have some added tomorrow. Pretty much i took a clove of garlic minced it up. diced up and onion and some super hot peppers from my uncles garden. thanks dude! but i took all that and boiled it in about 6 parts water per 1 part canola oil. I boiled it for 10 mins then strained. tomorrow after i get the marigolds i plan to chop them up and add them to the boil......so what you think of this pest repellant. I think its pretty organic. i plan to spray literaly everything with this hope it works.

I wouldn't have boiled for quite so long (in some cases not at all), and I'd have used a tad less oil (you can still dilute later on!), but assuming the liquid/oil 'parts' aren't too large, it should still be potent enough to get you out of the woods, so to speak. :)

Many pest-preparations start with the aromatics/plants and oil, which when combined performs a kind of phytochemical 'extraction', and is then blended with water... usually takes less than 24 - 48 hours, even without heat. If you do plan on using heat (peppers etc.), try to add everything that requires it all together, rather than boiling one part, and re-boiling your beneficial elements over and over as you add new items. Most of the time when heat is involved you're 1) boiling water, 2) dropping the minced-up items in, and 3) immediately removing the water from the heat source to cool, and rest for 24 hours or so without straining, until the following day. The sooner it's used after sitting, and the less overall heat it's exposed to, the more 'potent' it will be. :)
