My nutrient schedule...

Hello hello... I just wanted to share this nutrients schedule I came up with and wanted to see what you all thought. Whether it's good, bad, needs something added or removed, just let me know.. medium is coco straight coco with a layer of hydroton at the bottom of each pot. only two weeks of veg.

GH Maxi Bloom : 1 tsp (7 grams) per gallon.

GH Floralicious Plus : 1 ml per gallon

GH Cal-Mag : 1 ml per gallon (only on weeks 1,4 and 7 of flower... Or on a need to use basis)

GH rapid start : 2 ml per gallon (Will be used from week 2 of veg through week 3 of flower.. 4 weeks total... First two weeks will be used at half strength)

Dyna-Gro Pro-Tekt : 1 ml per gallon (Will be used from week 2 of veg through week 4 of flower.. 5 weeks total.)

Powder Kool-bloom : 1 tsp (7 grams) per gallon (Will be used only in weeks 4,5 and 8 of flower.. Will be added into res 4 days before res change in each of the listed weeks of use)

Humboldt's Gravity : 1 ml per gallon (Only used for one week.. Week 7 of flower.. All other nutes scheduled to be used that week will be diluted to 1/3 strength.)


Right now I am still debating on even using the Rapid start and the gravity... I have heard good things about both but to use those two additives it will cost me an extra $130... Granite I could get 2 uses out of the gravity since I'll only use it that one week. But still...

What do you guys think? I was going off the basic idea of using only Maxi bloom... But just did some reading and found some stuff that might be useful... Anything in here that doesn't need to be? Or something that should be here that isn't? I have to mix up a 75-80 gallon res so I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

I wish I had more to draw from as far as nutes go. My first grow was all AN and this one is Canna Coco. I used a bit of carboload during mid veg to early flower. This grow is already stomping the hell outa my first grow, as it should. I guess..lol

I don't know if you have ever used H&G Roots Excelurator (Gold Aluminum Can). I know I will never be without it, if I can help it. That is some sweet stuff on the young ones, I have never seen roots that developed in such a short time. I used it to water clones and had a 100% success rate with it. Here is a shot of almost 3 weeks of transplant from a 4" starter to a 1 gallon pot. This is at 1/2 str. I have had no need to go full str. as of yet, I would if I were growing in 10+ gallon pots tho..lol

Yea I figured it might be.. Which is fine by me honestly.. That just means I don't have to spend as much $$$...

I think I'm gonna toss the Floralicious Plus, Kool bloom, gravity and rapid start.... At least for now anyways.. I'll start with just the Maxi bloom in the same amount as I listed above, along with cal-mag, and Dyna-gro Pro-tekt (just for a beefier plant).... That will cut costs down significantly and hopefully still have some healthy ladies...

Maybe get some molasses and dissolve it in water and add to the res... Just a small amount to help with carbs, maybe 1 tablespoon per gallon... If I did do this, does anyone has a good trick on how to get it to dissolve in the water effectively? I've heard you can measure out the amount you need for the res and add it to a boiling pot of water and let it "loosen up" that way... I will be using a DTW system so I need to make sure it won't clog up the pump.

I have been reading almost everywhere people use it a few weeks before harvest... Which makes sense to me as it's to add density not mass. So wouldn't you want the buds to be more developed before trying to add density? I mean it would seem like a waste to use it that early. Unless you used it twice. Once in week 4 and another in week 7-8.. But then again I haven't used the stuff so I have no right to say when it does it's best work.

Regardless, I wont be using it this go around anyhow. But I'll keep this in mind when I decide I want to give it a shot..

Oh yes I have heard of it, I have seen the price tag also.... I have heard nothing but good things about the stuff (except price obviously)... One of the guys at the local hydro shop swore by it. I have contemplated getting some but haven't had the extra $$ for such a luxury... Rapid start is a lot cheaper and I heard good things about it so I thought if it works then I would give it a try.. But since I decided not to even get that this go around, I might save up for next grow and try the Roots excel... Looks like good stuff...

I was lazy and copied and pasted this from a previous post....

I use a very simple, non technical nute regime for my plants... all strains.
It was give to me by a 'coco pro' and it works despite my previous experience and understanding of nutrients...

I start with RO water....
(Added in this order)

Calmag - 2ml per litre (I use Grotek)
Canna Coco A - 2ml per litre
Canna Coco B - 2ml per litre
Root Stimulator - 1ml per litre (I use Rock Supercharge)
H&G Drip clean - 0.1ml per litre

Should put you at an EC of 1.6 - 1.8
Add water until you reach 1.6 if higher... 1.6 is your number

Mix and wait a few hours... PH to 5.8

Feed from rooted clone all through veg until 12/12 flip and you start to get flower sites.
When you do..

Add Bud Booster - 1ml per litre (I use Rock Resinator) after Root Stimulator

Once again, reduce EC back down to 1.6 by adding water.

Depending on strain, reduce back Canna Coco A & B by half after 60% of flowering cycle (ie. 8 week strain, week 5 or 6... 12 week strain, week 8

Last week run un ph'd water.

And no... it is not too hot, I was sure it would be at first, but I was wrong.

The only other thing I do is foilar feed daily with un ph'd Calmag solution in a spray bottle during veg.

It's that simple.

And remember... coco cant be too wet. Treat it like hydro, not soil.
If the leaves droop or claw, its because it needs more food = water more.

To all new growers.....any 3 part nutrient, a litre of cal/max and a litre of carboload. Used at the right time, in the right strengths, is all you will ever need. If you really want to try these additives you should really have a base line to judge with otherwise how do you know it is doing anything. These nutrient companies love all the hype, and rely on it to pay the bills. Only use what you have too and a couple of good meters will pay for themselves in the first grow...JAS

Jonny is actually pretty spot on with reply
My recipe was based on my own testing from "Base line" to give me noticeable results with and without each additive.
Sometime when a newb growers gets advice from a more experienced grower that says "Base nutrient, calmag, carbs is all you need"... the newb grower finds it hard to believe that is all you need.. as if it is too little, but most of the time it isnt

Even in cases where I try a nutrient line, I do exactly as Jonny said.. Base nutrients only... it's the only way to decipher what works and what is crap. You always need a cornerstone

Some of the most successful and healthy grows are the simplest ^^
