My new Wardrobe Grow

Check out the pics I just uploaded and tell me what you think! I just got a 400w ballast, HID, and MH light which I plan to install tomorrow.
I was wondering if I should keep some of my cfl's in there? More good light = More bud right?
Also how much longer until I should transplant them into larger pots?
Thanks for the comments everybody:mrgreen::mrgreen:
From experience of my closet grow which was in a 3' x 2' x'7' you are gonna have some serious heat problems. I used an air cooled 400 watt mh and had some heat issues. You need more ventilation to do what you are trying to do. I had an intake fan, 2 9" oscillating fans and I still had to leave the door open a little to keep the temps correct.

You *might* be able to get away with using a bathroom vent type fan, but I use an inline 6 inch centrifugal on a speed controller. It never runs full blast unless my bedroom gets up to 85 degrees.

My fan cost me about $100. I know it's hard to spend when times are tough, but set up your grow carefully and you'll more than make up for it in no time.

This is my cab, and I can run 250, 400's and 600's but cooling even the 400 is a demanding job...Personally a 250W digital ballast that can power both MH + HPS and a couple of CFL sidelight's will be of great benifit to you...Without to much cost and/or too much work involved :) and still give you nice results that you want to achieve :) - STELTHY :leaf:

congrats on the new light mimsy your going to be amazed at the growth rates with that i know i was the first time i used one.also like others have said you will likely have to cool your light.

I'm not sure on how to decide what to do with all my plants!!! Should I begin the flowering cycle for a week and then weed out the males?
Also I'm considering buying a bathroom fan but I'm curious as to what the CFM rating should be for the size of my box?
Again thank you to everyone who's commented or posted advice! You fuckin rock!

Do you have a larger box to put some? Because if not you should probably flip it to flower pretty soon and weed out the the males (should show sex pretty quickly). Any duct booster fan, whisper fan, or bathroom fan will work, just measure the width depth and height in feet, multiply together to get your cubic feet. You want to exchange that every 1-3 minutes. With CFL's you'll only need a small fan to exhaust, make sure to allow a decent intake area as well.

This is the only box I have, so I guess I'll start them flowering in a couple day and sex 'em.
Tomorrow I'll be building a carbon scrubber, do you think a 4inch inline fan with 65CFM would do? https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/174114-diy-carbon-filter-scrubber-15-a-3.html
My box is 46cf but I'm curious if the filter would put slow down the airflow enough to not allow proper cooling of my new light.
Thanks Arcadia your comments are always helpful =) Cheers

A duct booster fan is not going to work with a carbon filter. The booster fans are rated at what CFM they would move without ant resistance. Once you add ductwork, flow goes way down. Carbon filters add a lot of resistance that I don't think the fan can overcome.

What fan would you reccomend then? I just put it the 400w in, so far the temperatures at 75.7 F and holding.... We'll see how it goes.

Why not just get a ridiculous CFM PC fan? I use a 210 CFM PC fan on my closet and it's insane. Sounds like a lot less hassle and would take up a shit load less room. I'll post pics of my setup later if you want me to. Here's the fan I use. It's kinda loud, but works. You can get a 4A AC adapter for it on eBay and splice it in. Works great. I veg and flower under T5's though. But those T5's get pretty damn hot. Keeps my temps in the mid 70's. Without it, it'd be 90+ degrees in there.

Looking good Mimsy, very healthy looking plants! 75 degrees is pretty much perfect for now, and the smell won't really be an issue until the final five weeks or so of flower. As others have mentioned fans can be really hampered by a carbon filter, its hard to know how well it will handle it without having used that particular brand/model. Do you have pics of the 4" fan you are talking about? If you want, $15 will buy you a small tub of ONA gel which should last the final month and won't seduce the pull of your fan. The ONA gel can be placed by the exhaust and is very effective at neutralizing odors, much more so than you may expect. Hope this helps!

So I gave a few of my plants to a friend to take care of, might as well not let them go to waste right? Hooked up four 23w 5000k cfls and two 13w 4100k cfls to spoil my girls. =)
