my new budget filing cabinet cfl grow

Hello all, so as every one else i suppose ive been routing around this site for ages now and yep I have started my own cheap and chearful cfl growbox. In my office at work they where throwing away a small filing cabinet cause one of the draws was broken and staright away i thought i could use that . So any ways Ive brought it home, and cut out 2 holes for the two computer fans wired to a phone charger and small hole for the wiring. I screwed in the cfl to the back of the unit and covered the interior with the shiny stuff. Ive used the draw covers as the lid. Ive added some pics so you can all have a laugh .

what watt cfl... and na thats a nice set up small but not to stealthy with the lights showing threw.. you could hook up a watering tube since your so close to the sink

Im just using a 125w red cfl in this box. Im not too worried about the light showing through as its in my eu-suite. And the light is on from 6am to 6pm.

nice I wounder what the min. watt cfl could be used to crow a decent yield.. Let us know how they grow. love the thread hope it finishes!!

is that a 125 or the equivalant... not to be noob but i cant find any cfl in wallyworld AKA walmart or home depot over 48 watt... but the box i have says 23watt cfl=100watt normal incadecent.. Anyone have any experience with the conversion?

Its a 125w envirolite. It fits into an E40 screw fitting and has a built in ballast. I bought mine from growell website as im in the uk. You can find them on ebay.

Thanks for sharing Pagalsher, how long since you went 12/12? I'm also glad you've shown that aluminum foil doesn't cause burning with cfl's. At least 125w worth anyway. Good luck with your buds.

Ive got 3 plants but 2 diffrent strains in there. All clones from my first grow. I know 2 are sativa's and 1 is an indica. 2 of them will have been in there for 3 weeks on tuesday. and the 3rd went in a week ago. Ive had to tie them down cause i didnt get the box ready in time and basicaly already out grown the box. I may have to sacrifice the early girl.

I know the foil is abit ghetto but i had to do it... But it dont make no diffrence in heat wise as a result in burning. Cause the lid is quite close to the light and that does get hot, but not enough to burn. I Wouldnt have used it if i ws using a hps light... Also ive not used foil any where near the wiring, just incase loll.. I hate playing around with electricity loll

Still, an interesting place to try and grow some good sh't. It will be a challenge to keep a sativa in that box, but you are sure to learn something. I'd find some coin to buy an autoflowering feminized dwarf if money were no object, but different is more fun to watch.
