My buds were Ruined.
well kinda, I went on vacation to Cali over the weekend and came back to an explosion of mold and bud rot. My humidistat ran out of batteries a few months ago and I haven’t changed them
so I’m assuming my humidity is all out of wack.
Anyway, here’s how I handled it.
step 1: chop off all infected areas including areas unaffected directly by mold but touching areas that are infected

step 2: dissect your newly harvested buds so that you can see where the mold is most prominent and also find any bud rot.

step 3: discard all chunks of mold and bud rot. Be meticulous through step 2&3 even if it’s a tiny piece of mold or rot, remove a chunk. Better safe than sorry.

***after removing all moldy/rotten pieces you’ll hopefully have something left worth saving.
step4: make a solution of about 1cup (.2L) of regular %3 hydrogen peroxide per 4-5 gallons of Regular water.View attachment 4714924
Step 5: dunk the buds in the solution for at least 5 minutes. Longer is fine. I don’t keep them under water to long, I let them float and then dunk them for a few seconds several times throughout the 5 minutes.
***if you see a oily looking substance on top of the water... that’s mold
step 6: gently but thoroughly rinse the buds with fresh water.
step 7: shake the buds dry (I squeezed mine a little) and hang them in front of a fan. You want the wind blowing on the buds (easy on the fanbecause there’s a lot of moisture in them.
After that proceed drying and curing as normal. Keep an eye out for mold growth if it comes back again id just toss the lot For sure.
