My mini-fridge plan (advice needed)

hi everyone... this is my first post. i've lurked here for a while, and I have never grown before. I need a lot of advice.

a while ago, I bought a mini-fridge. it was cheap, and i got what i payed for: it is a shitty refrigerator that can hardly keep water cold. i've wanted to try growing some bagseeds for a while, and just realized that my shitty fridge would make for a nice growbox.

the fridge i am using is 1.7 cubic feet. this is a picture i found online:

i have already removed all of the cooling equipment and the door shelves.

i am aiming at growing one or two plants using a SCROG method. does anybody have any experience (or have a link) regarding SCROGging on this small of a scale? I don't totally understand the process.

i am NOT going to kid myself.... I know there won't be much of a yield, but i am just trying to get started.

Here is a diagram of what i would like to build:

it is not in the picture, but I also plan on putting foil or a mirror on the top of the box to reflect light downwards.

is this feasible? i feel that it should be, as long as the plant(s) do not grow too large.

here are some questions that i have:

-would this be enough ventilation?
-how will i regulate the temperature?
-if i use 4 CFL's, what wattages/temperatures should I use?
-since it is such a small area, is it ok to use stationary lighting?
-what size pots should I use?

stealth is not much of an issue, but I plan on eventually incorporating a homemade carbon filter.

again, i don't want replies that say "this is stupid" or "the space is too small" or "you'll only get an eighth." this is the box that i want to build, and i am going to find a way to do it. help me, don't hate me.

thanks in advance! :blsmoke:

One thing I forgot - I am going to use the fridge's adjustable rack to raise the newborn plants to the height of the CFL's.

Once they grow enough, I will use the rack as the SCROG net.

does that sound right?

Will it work....Yes.
Will it be worth it....No.

You can not fit enough light in there to get anything good off a plant. Forget the yield, the buds would be whispy and worthless.
You will have a hard time fitting enough lights AND a plant...even a lowryder plant.
Set up a nice floro light at the top and use the fridge to grow clones and seeds. Something along the lines of Aerogarden lights would fit nice in there. Dont go buying a aerogarden, just giving you an idea for lights that would fit well in there.

I've got one of those. I wonder if the fan would provide enough ventilation. Seems like it would be a lot of work to wire up and convert for just a seedling box.

I thought about using mine for a rez chiller.

dont put anything on the inside to reflect light. the white interior is ideal and mirros create hotspots. secondly it will be good practice to grow in therejust flower after 2-3 weeks of veg and if you have ability to grow outside somewhere this fridge is a very good starting chamber

Once you have told me the dimensions. I honestly think you will be able to have a nice SCROG, maybe get a 1/4 ounce of nice smoking bud. IMO you should flower after a few days.

Sorry guys, i am switching gears and going with a cardboard grow... bigger dimensions and more stealth.

wuss .... jk lol i use my mini fridge to chill my res for an outdoor hydro system, and i use another one to root my clones in, the fact that its sealed makes it nice to keep temps and humidity just perfect. Good luck man just remeber its a weed if you leave it alone it will grow better than you know.
