My IGROW Veg Lighting Experiment II

After seeing such amazing results with my igrow bloom fixtures i went ahead and purchased a few weeks back a 200 watt veg fixture. In this new thread i will be doing a side by side comparison of the effects of the igrow 200 watt veg fixture against my T5HO 432 Watt Fixture on 8 plants. In an effort to keep the comparison as accurate as possible, i attempted to match the plant strains being grown under both types of lighting strain for strain, as well by age and initial size. (something i was not able to do on my first igrow test).

Both groups of plants are being fed General Hydroponics Grow Formula every 4th day.

Exciting stuff and the igrow fixtures continue to impress me, the most interesting thing about this data is that i am using half the power as i have been using with the T5 fixtures, which were supposed to be the best energy alternative. have more data posting next.

peace out

On the 16[SUP]th[/SUP] the IGROW OG plant had sprung up overnight and made contact with the bulb, scorching
the top 4 leaves. In spite of that, the OG plant bypassed the T5 OG by an inch. With any luck the
plant won’t be permanently damaged and ruin the comparison.

What amazes me so much is that i thought my T5HO tri-phosphor lights were a huge upgrade to what i had been using for years, turn out that i am using more than half the watts with iGROW and producing such high quality starts. This is awesome!!

Peace out

I continue to be very impressed with the results that i am getting with the igrow lights, remember that i am only using a 200 igrow veg light vs. an 8 lamp T5 and it is kicking it's ass. plants look great and think that my next bloom grow using igrow bloom will be even better now that i have veged with igrow also. the plants are just happy, what else can i say.

[h=1]iGROW Veg Test – Final Ready To Bloom[/h]I wanted to start off and say how impressed i am with the iGROW veg lamp, i used half the amount of watts than a T5HO and it out performed them to a great extent. I am sure that guys who use the iGROW 400 watt veg lamp are going to see some amazing things. My plants are beautiful and strong and ready for bloom. Here is the final post data on my veg trial:

I am going to start another post with my new iGROW induction light set up and new fixtures, i learned alot from the first time using induction lighting. This time i am going to watch a few different things.

1. The watering and feeding schedules: The plants are just healthy under igrow, they just dont eat as much or drink as much but look better and healthier, i believe it is because my room just is not moving air like it used to with my 1000 watters.

2. humidity in the room, with my ac running so much less i finally got a handle on the grow room environment near the end, this time it will not be a factor.

3. what nutrient i am using. i am going to play with some newer flowering nutrient additives, my local store guy thought this may help knowing the plants are not using as much with the induction lights. I'll mention this in my next posting.

4. The height of the igrow lights to the top canopy. It was interesting to find that some strains like the light very close, like 4" away and others liked it better when it was around a foot, again not sure what that means but something to play with and learn more about. If i was to guess i would think it has something to do with how bushy the plants are and the amount of light that is hitting the top canopy leaves.

5. Air movement around lights. I only have a few fans running in the room, disconnected all my in liners, but i did notice that when i was moving things around and the fan air was directly on the lamp, it looked liked it dimmed a little. I called the store that has been selling me all the lights and they got back to me quickly after calling igrow and explained that the lamp should have constant temperature and not air cooled because in some cases it could dim the lamp down and keep them away from direct blowing on the lamp. It was very slight but i am being very picky because of how much time i am spending in my grow room doing this trail. But it makes sense. something again to watch.

Well hope you enjoyed it, i have.

peace out
