ill be doing the same thing after i finish my 4 by 8 flood tables .... i priced it out tho..and i would goona make it just likethe aro60s... but i would going to make 8 foot long channles and 14 pots per...those will run 28 bucks for the pvc fenceing and 2 bucks for the endcaps....the 1/2 pvc is about 2 bucks and then the misters..i can get for .33 each soo 4 dollars in them...then the net cups at .30 cents each soo 4 bucks total and the drill bit for 30 bucks soo your looking at 40 dollars or soo for a complete channel without the drill bit...but allso you should be able to make a float drain were you can raise and loweer to have a small water level inside the tubing....just a thought..

I built my cloner per stink buds instructions but made my lower legs 6" long because I used the 14 gallon rubbermaid tote. Made 35- 3/4" holes in the top and like i said used sheet rubber insulation for holders. Just threaded the roots thru the bottom of the net pot then added hydroton, worked great and no shock to plants. Also included current picture of veg-back right plant is at 16" today it was 8.5" in last picture.
I have not grown these strains before am just getting back into growing after a couple of years off. Was growing ak47 and would flower at 16" and yield about 24 oz. Will be taking clones tomorrow and then will be going to 12/12 in next couple of days. BTW am growing jack flash, white widow, and diesel this time around.

PS the black cloth around the bottom of the cloner is landscape fabric with a electric tie around the top to keep the pump covered. I had plenty laying around and I couldn't see spending 10 bucks for a pump cover. Works good

nice. i like the idea that you made 3/4" holes. i will be doing the same thing, also moving them into 3" nets with hydroton.

Hey H8....nice set-up...you'll love it.

Can I make a suggestion? I have built several of these systems and have found out that the hole in the bottom of the tube should be as large as possible. After I built my first system years ago I had massive root growth which clogged a 1.25" hole and caused the tubes to fill up and overflow the netpots. I noticed your returns look manifolded together which may increase the possibility of a problem. What I ended up doing to resolve the problem was to remove my endcaps and construct a gutter system that sent the nutes back to the rez. until that grow was over. Subsequent designs have a full 6" return (just a 6" tee) and I have no more issues.

Heres a link to the thread and in the first post you can see pics of the tubes.

Good Luck...GoHydro!
yeah, you have a good point about that. what if i put a screen at the drain hole? or would the roots still cover it to where water would not flow out.

Actually a screen may make it worse. If you cant enlarge the drain holes (as well as having a single pipe from each tube back to the rez rather than manifolded together) because you're too far along just make sure you have an emergency back-up plan in place (like removing the rubber end caps and draining back to the rez another way) in case the 3" pot holes overflow because your drains have clogged with roots.

yeah they are built, and im just waiting on other shit to finish out to start this system. im going to it a run and see what it does. if i have to change it a bit. ill figure something out. space is a huge factor with my whole setup, so that tends to come into play often.
