My homemade aero 6" pipe unit.

just finished one of my aero units for the flower camber. thought i would share. here are a few pics i took from its test run.

its 6" pvc, 30" lengths. 1/2" pvc for my piping. and i made the front with removable caps. With the caps off, you can unscrew the sprayer rods. 1 1/2" drain. seems like its going to work out great. i cant wait to make the switch from dirt to this.

thats awesome... do you run the pump all the time or just every once in awhile,

Nice!,been wanting to make one but I was gonna use square fence post and can't find any at home depot.How much for all the parts??

i made two 6 spot units. i got about $150 into them. but that includes some holes saws and other shit i needed to complete them. i will post more pics of the whole setup. I have not started to use these yet, as im finishing out my dirt grow.

i'm kinda new to this, but the 1/2 tube inside? does that contain the line or does the pump just fill up that whole tube?

The pipe inside is the sprayer bar,which is made up of pvc piping and sprayers that spray suspended roots on a set cycle (1min on 4 min off is a common cycle).You get even faster growth than general hydroponics systems because roots are suspended in air with no medium to interfere with oxegen intake.The only downside is if your pump goes out or timer stops working or there is a power outage your plants die fast as hell if you are not around to hand feed them to keep roots from drying out.

does the air in the tube need to be circulated, and where do you get the red sprayer tips?

no the air does not need to be circulated in the tube. the red sprayers are for the EZ clone set up. most hydro stores have them.

Air????Those red tips spray water/nutrients onto the roots,any hydroponic store carries them,or google microjet sprayers.

heres a few more pics of the setup... ill be using rubbermaid 10gal bins for a res. low proile, perfect for my small space.

I use the same setup that i modified after trying dwc. I really like the one on four off timer and the growth that it produces. I have a 4' x 4' area with five tubes and five 3" pots per tube. You are really going to like this system. Good luck

nice bro, i got a similar setup in a tote for cloneing, been thinking of going bigger. So i'm going to keep an eye on your grow. Good Luck

h8popo here are a couple of pics of my system. The plants have only been vegging for 5 days now and i put a 16 oz bottle in for reference. I surely like aero compared to dwc. I got the idea from Stinkbud to change over my system and i also built the cloner he had plans for except i only made 3/4" holes in it and made my own holders with sheet expanded foam rubber insulation. Best cloner I have ever used. Tried cloners with air pumps and got fair results. Alot of my roots were 4" long in 8 days and i just threaded them thru my 3" net pots and filled them up with hydroton. I also use foam weather stripping around the base of the net pots for a little more stability and to block light. Good luck

that looks sweet man. yeah i also referenced stinkbuds setup alot. i made his vegger which i will also be using. i would like to see your cloner. that sounds like a real nice idea. i was going to make one, but im also using 3 inch pots. my space is tight, so any idea where the final product is small and holds alot im all about. how tall do you start 12/12? and what do you avg per plant?

I built my cloner per stink buds instructions but made my lower legs 6" long because I used the 14 gallon rubbermaid tote. Made 35- 3/4" holes in the top and like i said used sheet rubber insulation for holders. Just threaded the roots thru the bottom of the net pot then added hydroton, worked great and no shock to plants. Also included current picture of veg-back right plant is at 16" today it was 8.5" in last picture.
I have not grown these strains before am just getting back into growing after a couple of years off. Was growing ak47 and would flower at 16" and yield about 24 oz. Will be taking clones tomorrow and then will be going to 12/12 in next couple of days. BTW am growing jack flash, white widow, and diesel this time around.

PS the black cloth around the bottom of the cloner is landscape fabric with a electric tie around the top to keep the pump covered. I had plenty laying around and I couldn't see spending 10 bucks for a pump cover. Works good

Hey H8....nice set-up...you'll love it.

Can I make a suggestion? I have built several of these systems and have found out that the hole in the bottom of the tube should be as large as possible. After I built my first system years ago I had massive root growth which clogged a 1.25" hole and caused the tubes to fill up and overflow the netpots. I noticed your returns look manifolded together which may increase the possibility of a problem. What I ended up doing to resolve the problem was to remove my endcaps and construct a gutter system that sent the nutes back to the rez. until that grow was over. Subsequent designs have a full 6" return (just a 6" tee) and I have no more issues.

Cool set-up guys. I was gonna build my own but lowes only had 4x4's. I found a site that sells them 3ft lone for $40 complete. Drains and all.
