My Hash Journal

Hey everyone! Just here to share my first experiences of making hash. I might even post a video of how I do it all at the end, we'll have to wait and see. For now I'll he showing you my first turnout from using the ice wash method and some other techniques I read in a guide on here by a user named chb (and a string of numbers I can't remember >.< sorry!) which I found very helpful as I knew little of how to make it to begin with. Anyways here is part of the first batch I made:
Sorry if the pics aren't the greatest, was holding my phone in one hand and flashlight with the other >.< I'll get better pics of the next batches I make. Til next time! Stay high!

Looks perdy good to me man ,keeps the pics commin we love hash porn here so keep the pics commin !
Thanks man! Any support is appreciated. Some constructive criticism would be helpful too, but that'll come later probably as this is a new post and I haven't really explained my method yet. I'd rather show it all in video though, as I'm already working on one. Whippin up the next batch as we speak!

. I basically do what this guide says: https://www.rollitup.org/t/making-hash-with-your-trimmings-for-free-using-basic-household-items.323788/ except I use a metal strainer, I don't have a reusable coffee filter or a metal one, so I just use paper coffee filters, and I do the mixing process in a peanut butter jar, shaking it for some 20 mins. After letting it set for roughly 30-45 mins, I use the metal spaghetti strainer to strain out the plant particles, and after letting it sit for 10-15 mins I (sometimes) filter the mixture through pantyhose. Then I let it sit for another 30-45, sometimes an hour and 30 mins, to finally start carefully using a ladle to scoop out the soup and into the coffee filters I rubber banded to yogurt cups in a way where the filters kinda dip down a bit. Finally when the water has evaporated and dripped through the coffee filter, I take the filter out and put it in another one to dry for 5 mins, afterwards lightly scraping off the finished product with a butterknife, form it in the wet coffee filter, and then press it in the fresh one .. yeh I'd really like to get a better way to get the plant particles out and to have a set of aquarium tubes so I can just do the gumby method

If you are looking to up your game I highly recommend investing in a set of quality 1 gallon bags if you're doing small runs(under 2 oz) or 5 gallon bags for larger runs(~8 oz).

Boldtbags and Bubblebags would be the 2 brands worth checking out.

Using an 8 bag system will completely remove all plant matter and capitate stalks from your hash leaving you will nothing but glandular trichome heads. Full melt.

Thanks for the info and advice! Much appreciated
Cheers man if you ever have any questions just shoot me a PM or ask in a thread. I'm always willing to help if I can.

Have you seen any of Bubbleman's videos or Matt Rize? Those are the videos which taught me the best techniques. Proper separation and drying is key!

Thanks again, I'll definitely have more questions later on. And I don't think I have seen those. Mind sending me the links? Also, for right now, I don't have a job just yet, so I'm gona have to stick with this low budget method til then. I wont be making too much since I don't have all the proper tools yet and I want to get as much product I can for all the work it requires. Specifically the waiting part gets me heh heh. But I'll get back to you guys later, gotta get something to eat and check on last nights batch

I been making bubble hash for about 3 years now and the biggest improvement I had with my bubble was when I bought a washing machine, hand agitating is too harsh on the material the washing machine works wonders if you got like 200$ I would pick up a washing machine. I have used 8 bag and 5 bag sets and I just use 5 bags.

Hmm, I'd think the washing machine would agitate it too much. But as I said, no job as of right now, which means I don't have any income except when I occasionally do some yard work for my grandparents, but I only get 20$ at a time from that. But thanks for the suggestion! ^_^ I think I might get a 3 bag set, still deciding though.

You place the trim/buds in a mesh bag then place the bag in the washing machine so the product never gets mashed around just water swishes around it , works amazing.

@Yodaweed Hmm I'll have to look into that. Anyways I just got done looking up prices on bubble bags an the one that seems most affordable (well affordable to me, meaning the most reasonable amount of money that I can obtain in a shorter amount of time) was the original 5 gallon 4 bag set with the bucket on the freshheadies website

No problem. I'll find a bunch of appropriate videos for you to watch. But since you mentioned low budget I would like to suggest rosintech for you. Are you interested in dabbing or do you prefer just smokin bowls? If you like to dab rosintech may be the way to go. Plus no waiting time. :) Bubble hash making can end up costing a lot of money to have all the tools and toys that a hashmaker would want in their toolkit.

On the contrary I only hand mix, I have never owned a washing machine and I feel that a washing machine will never be able to go as gentle as I do nor would it know when to stop as well as I do. Gentleness is key. :) IMO a washing machine would be best suited for someone who is making hash every day(commercial producer). To each their own. Different strokes for different folks.

I don't want to fully dissuade you but in my opinion it's very important to start with 8 bags and then once you get to know your resin that you're working with you can remove a couple bags from the system. I use 6 bags.

4 is a decent place to start though as one can always buy single bags at a later date but you will never get the top quality that you will with 8 bags. That is..... if you're after the absolute best quality possible. If not, 4 should suffice.

I hand mixed for years, get a washing machine then see what you think. Not a big fan of people speaking about things they have no experience with.

I have been running the three bag systems for many years. When these things first came out they were hundreds of dollars. I got these for $30. I wouldn't buy anything smaller than 5 gal. I have worked with the smaller bags and they are hard to wring out. I have already worn a set out. When I first got e'm they were in use for two weeks straight. Guys I hadn't heard from in a while were calling "Hey Dude, heard ya got some bags, can I come over? We ran some hash:) Anyway lesson one. Don't work in the work bag, it wears out and cracks. For mixing use a separate bucket or in this case a pitcher for small amounts.
