!!!!!My Growing Adventure 2!!!!! DWC!!!!! afgan!!!!! and anything else !!!!

this is my second real indoor grow but first time DWC. My first time around can be found @ https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/53235-my-growing-adventure.html it turned out to be a success. I wish i would have posted my outdoor grow because all pics of it got destroyed along with all the pics i had of the first.. but there in my thread so we got the goods in there.


Allright so im running a DWC set up with Fox Farm nutes. powered by a 400w MH with a hydofarms reflector i picked it up today actually and wired it up. i have a few afghan seeds sitting on the heat mat in peat pellets and one that survived threw all the building and is sitting in the bucket for 3 days now. so far its looks like its not gonna die. ph is staying lvl and im still curious how much nutes i can push at it. its three weeks old and im at 930 ppm. i wana go up to 1100ppm.

Mylar and some temp goodies are coming soon but i got bills to pay.

i ended up bumpin the ppm to 1150

Got home and took some pics tonight. It really seems to like the bucket. also took various pics of the set up and my room since thats where its at. could call this a closet grow. everything seems stable and i think im starting to relax some, i have been stressing myself about moving from soil to water. im so glad to be growing again.

got home after a long weekend and she has grown a bit in two days. my water temp is up to 78-80 F which is about room temp. which in turn i think raised my ph to almost 8 i added some ph down and got it sorted out. tds was around 1170. i still feel like im missing something cuz she is a lil yellow. i cant remember but i think if i add some Epsom salt it will work to green it up or is that for soil only? ima have to look that up.

now that i look at the pics it may be the light? i dont remember it looking like that in my first grow.

got two more seeds sprouted. hopefully in about a week we can put them in buckets too. im kinda digin the dwc business

thanks stinkbudd1 i been wanting grow in water for a long time. after i get a handle on growing hydro ima get some good seeds. qrazy train is prolly what ill end up gitting the thought about train wreck and it being purple is sex


edit: went and checked ph again just to make sure it was right and it was back up past 7.5 so i said fuck it and changed out the water ph is at 6.5 atm and 1300ppm a lil higher than i wanted but we will see ill check ph again b4 i crash for the night

apparently she liked the new water papa gave her. got home tonight and she was standing at salute. cant wait till the new babies are ready for buckets.

got home today and put some sprouts in more buckets and changed out the bigger plants water. i was reading the fox farm nute recomendations and it was saying 2tsp a gal and i was putting 2 tbs and everything was fine do i need to keep up the high dose feeding or kick it back down to what they say to feed?

i had to do something about the light so i put up a layer of black plastic (6 mil)

any advice would be helpful im still wet behind the ears so to speak

just a lil update. having some yellowing and white spots going on i think i got nute burn. i also toped the big one

got home tonight and checked ph all around was up in all the buckets got it back down and gave them all some superthrive

picked up a roll of mylar ill put it up after work tonight and post pics

so im a lil late on pics but i have been busy enjoying my days off from work. i rebuilt the room, made it taller and put up black 6 mil plastic and the covered with 2 mil eBay Mylar picked up some black paint from wal-mart and sprayed the buckets black. i also found a few worms chillin on my larger plant. i killed them and sprayed with a insecticide

well i made it one month with out killing anything in my bucket setup. my worst enemy seems to be ph and lil green worms

today marks the day i got a digital pH meter and its been 24 hrs and the plants love it. also things have changed quite a bit since the last post much much bushier

if you keep having trouble with bugs you can get that stuff that you line your house with and it keeps out a lot of worms and ground bugs... Im also growing in DWC what did you say your PPM is at? 1200 seems a little high to me but IDK that's like at what i have my 40" Flowers at... could be different nutes...check out my journal for pics of emm, Link is in my signature

all worms are dead. i think there from moths and such. recently the lady bugs have started invading my garden and i kinda like it

ok so its been skunk smelling in veg here lately and one plant in particular it is actually the one i suspect is male from it being so damn big and stretching all over the place. i been considering building a carbon filter out of some 10 inch bucket lids. i was sitting there looking at my area and decided if it was a female that it is to big of a damn plant and killed it well actaully i cut two down tonight, there was another plant with the same characteristics and it would be to damn big too. so the three that is left all have the same characteristics short, bushy, and nodes close as hell, so yeah i want that in my tight space.(thats what she said) i have alot of seeds planted in my clone chamber, and im about to take a few cuttings for the buckets i have open.

i also got a lovely package left on my stoop today. it was filled goodies. i now have the complete line of FF nutes and some cal-mag plus. the reason behind the FF nutes is simplicity they were a lil more costly then i would have liked in the end but i should see a few nice buds
