my grow room setup

Hey all! I am using my phone so I can't post pictures on here, however I have a grow blog with my whole start to current setup!

Feel free to check it out and share thoughts/ideas about the whole design.

And what's wrong with it?

doesnt look bad. you could get some panda film and cover up your walls. i do like the idea of using a rubbermaid for your seedlings hahaha. and the rigged computer fan.

I have some panda film that should be arriving in the next day or so.

And yes, I have my confined space and needed a sealed container for when my room is flowering, so my seedlings and clones don't flower.
The computer fans work great as well for air circulation.

i like your set up. i think you need to find a way to disspate the heat from your 400w and add a carbon filter. other than that, your good to go man

Sweet deal. Ya this is my first grow so im excited. I have some lemon desel that i am starting with.
But yes i am looking into buying a carbon setup this week anf a couple rotating fans to help with heat build up.

haha yeah you def. need some carbon filters for that lemon diesel. grass city's got a diy carbon filter compendium if you wanna build it yourself: http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/569506-diy-carbon-filter-compendium.html. or you can buy 1 haha. just put the carbon filter on top of your lights, and have it sucked out of the room, you should kill both the heat problem and the future stink problem.

Would that size filter be large enough for my setup? Or would i be better dropping $144it on a filter and high flow fan? Right now i have some 6" inline booster fans that seem to move alot of air together.

take the total volume of your room in cubic feet, multiply by 2, that should give you a basis on how big of a carbon filter you will need. for example, you got a 10x10x12 room, then you would need 2400 cfm. a 4 inch carbon filter works for about 200 cfms, 6 inch for 500cfms and 8 inch for 700-800cfms. calculate the total volume of your room, then you can decide what kind of carbon filter you will need.

inline fans are good booster fans, but they are not good fans to push high volume of air when theres a long distance involved or when used to suck from a carbon filter. i would recommend a fan such as the can max fan.

Just as a little FYI.. you want to scrub all the air in your room once every 3 minutes. So take the volume of your room and DIVIDE by 3, not multiply by 2.

I would put some more ventilator holes in your CFL clone thingie... young plants are more susceptible to powdery mildew.
i would also SERIOUSLY consider getting a "real" reflector. that 400 watt HPS thing looks ghetto as hell and does not have the proper angles for light reflection...its all about the light son.

my bad. legallyflying is right about the air. regardless, your pc fan cloner/propogator has enough air circulation. its a small rubbermaid container, and a pc fan might even dry your plants out. i had pc fans that move 113cfms before

hey i saw the green tub and think you should put the lights on the top sides around the tub instead of the roof to give you more room, good luck man

Ya I got the whole light setup in a trade with a $20 dremel. Haha. So I thought I made away like a lil bandit. But what type of hood would you suggest?

And good information about the scrubber, I never knew how to figure that out.

For a 400 I would definitely go with the super sun II in order to maximize penetration. U can also scoop them up cheap online.

Thanks! Ya I am trying to get or on the right foot, but without dropping to much into it. However I am already over my budget haha so I am just going all out at this point. Lol. I am already looking into taking over my whole laundry room instead of just half and putting a veg/seed n clone room in instead of using tubs for those stages. Haha

It adds up VERY quickly. 6k in my 8 light flower room.

it all pays back in 1-2 harvests think of it as a capital investment

To some extent, the more you spend on quality gear to control the climate and produce good light patterns the happier the plants will be and the better off you will be.
