Hey p3lican, my tent is always around 80 but I dont have ducting or a carbon filter yet at almost week 5 of flowering.l go for walks and come back to see if I smell anything and it doesnt until I get inside but it is clear somethings growing. My neighbors havnt been home for a few months anyway, I made one and putting it on tomorrow its no good though lol. Ya good deal on your new fan.


Hey dirtdigger, no problem man I appreciate anytime you have. Sorry about your situation, without identifying myself ive been through parent illness it sucks.

I have 5\6 one was male, and 5 more vegging. Flowering are House and Garden vegging are dyna gro. They look very healthy, all have their characteristics.

Strawberry blue -Acts like a baby without being watered hours before others, looks like a fruity bud. More issues with this girl.

Afghani Kush - easy easy to grow, looks like emaller yield but stickier with much bigger trich but alot less.Bottom leaves dont yellow with poor light penetration. Trains well.

Sensi star - Burned earlier in life, ph issue slowed her down. The trained sensi is the best looking (quality) and am excited to harvest in a month or idk. Recommend for beginners.

Dont recommend strawberry blue for beginners but its all good.


I found a orange bug with black dots in veg box and killed it. Looked like a asain ladybud but it wasnt. Also found a seed looking thing ontop of a cola, I pinched it off. Nervous.

What or who had the herme I would keep an eye on that one every day from now on but sounds like things are going good. And yes Afghani Kush is an easy one I have just one of those going at this time and is in flush right now next round is up with 3 of them vegging now they make a nice mid day smoke! Never had the Strawberry blue I will keep that one in mind as a butt pain and stay away from. One thing I am a little concerned about you not have your ducting or a carbon filter in yet because when they are in full bloom and in flush it will trep in smell so keep that in mind!!!! And when you harvest them well there will be no way to keep any one not knowing so BE CARE FULL.

It wasn't a confirmed hermie, but Im going to keep my eye on it. My tent has no light leaks, I bet ill be ok.

As for carbon filter, I made one for now but it looks half ass. Im quite worried, but my neighbors are never home. They just left, came to mow the lawn after being gone over 2 months. Any temporary odor ideas would be appreciated.

There are some online sites where you can sell your card for a percentage. I've never used them but was just reading about them and tried this site, https://www.cardcash.com they paypal you the money too so you can use it at ebay etc. Like I said, never used one those sites so be careful.

As for your filter, I've used this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Honeywell-Household-Odor-and-Gas-Reducing-Pre-Filter-2pk-HRF-B2/16540032 and just rolled it up and put it in a small length of ducting, covered the end of the ducting with some and attached it to my fan and ran it out of the grow area. It was a 15.00 quick fix that did reduce the smell but if anyone was if you were close enough you could still smell it. That was on my first grow and thinking back it was pretty reckless.

Other people have used regular old school box fans and one of these activated carbon filters (it's for home AC units so it's a pretty good size) and attached it to the fan.

Non the less man, I'd just work on getting legit fan/filter combo, the peace of mind is very important along with the obvious. The problem I have with all the DIY stuff is sure they probably work in most cases but every time you end up spending way more than anticipated and usually it ends up being comparable to just buying the real deal. I did that with my lights, filtration etc. I have all kinds of useless junk I spent a lot of money trying to cut corners LOL.

Anyway, keep us posted and when you have a chance sometime could you post a nice pic of the Strawberry Blue, someday I still want to try that, too bad my seed was runty and the seedling was the same, I swear man, the seed was about the size of a quarter of a piece of rice. I was really looking forward to trying that strain.

I took a picture of the plants, I'll post the strawberry first. My seed was soooo small as well I was worried but it worked out.. I am going to grab one in a week or so itll be ok. Never again though too much work keeping windows shut in certain parts of house etc..

Man those look really good. Someday I'll get the Strawberry Blue, I've got too many going for now. Does your Afghani have less bud sites but really beefy buds growing on it compaired to the others? That's how mine is for now.

For example, my sensi star has sugar leaves thst pretty much look like little crystals, my afghanis trichomes are much much bigger its different looking. I think my afghani has like 4 sites and others have 6 or 7 so yea. They are thick, but so is my sensi star so im not sure yet.

Yeah man, time will when it comes around but you'll start seeing the buds to really start filling out in the near future. After that you just gotta let them fill out, ripen up and get the tricombs to where you want them. The hardest part is near the end where you just want them to finish so you can cut and enjoy them. But yeah, not too much longer but still not too close to cutting just yet.
