MY grow (cheaply) /w pics

Ok ok i know i started this late but o well
i have
1) shop light with 6800 lumes in it (compined) 3000k
2) clamp light 2000 lumes 3500k
3) ph/light/mostiure tester
4)1 small plant about 3-5 weeks old
Growing space 49" wide 19" tall

tring to figure out how to use ph tester and getting ferts
getting a 150 watt hps system
working on getting seeds from a freind

Super un-healthy! Slow your watering down a little, and get more light... try aleast (Lower it 3-3 1/2 inches about the plant.

i need to figure out how to cool it in my closet my temp guage is maxing out at 85 degrees f

the ph in soild is 7.5
and 8800 lumes on 1 plant isent good?
i would lower light but it looks life its burning it from this distance

the pic is from a downword angle light is 4 1/2 in away

What more do i need im going to get
1) ferts
2) a light set with 4 sockets getting: 2, 2700k cfls. 2 more ?k (tips on it?)

what kind of soil are you using?
that plant looks well not so happy bro.
besides that the light should be within 2-3 inches with a fan blowing on it to keep the temps down.

get 6500k daylight bulbs too. much better for veg growth the hps will be good for flower

working on getting getting fans the 4 soc wall mount im putting in the highest day light ones i can find (5500k 630 lumens) as well as keeping the shop light and the clamp light on them so a total of 11320 lumes on it for veg. then changing those day light bulbs for 2700k 900 lumes for bloom for 12400 lumes on it

that will work. you gotta get that baby happy though. wait till the soil is dry about 2 inches down and then water again. I usually wait till the pot is light and water again. Please keep us posted

see heres my problem with the watering thing...... when i started this grow i just randomly put about 5 junk seeds on top a Chia pet growing sponge 2 took (rest were burnt from the lighter) 1 tried to grow upside down and fried the other (current one) did well for a while. then i found this forum got info. then i transplanted heres my problem its a sponge it soacks up the water and holds it.... i got more seeds coming and hopeing that it will work when i retry what should i do

and whats a cheap alternitive to Hydroponics was looking at getting after finding out there have a store downtown but i dont have the money to pay $16 for the smallist bottle

i added 4 cfl's each have 5700k 630lumens 60 w. later some 2700k 900 lumes will go in
i added 2 fans cuz the temps were above 83 f now t keeps it at about 74-78
i have yet to get ferts though still need to find a cheaper altirnitive. in total im about to $80 in supplies give or take $20

what does everyone think so far (beside plant looks like shit)

you should get those "y" splitters for those cfls and get all 4 of them within two inches of the plant. besides that your on the right path

Cheap alt to Hydroponics? Soil growing

ok im confused with what my plant is doing now. its doing something simmular to when i took off the bag i had on it (for humidity) earlier in its growth the top leaves are turning white and dieing at ends but i did notice that all the nodes are growing new leaves im not sure if its becouse it went from 65 humidity to 23. or if it was cuz the heat in new area. i know the plant dident have any nutrients left from other medium but i did transplant and i think it might be doing better

i don't know for sure but i don't think that's overwatering. maybe nutrient def. or burn or just bad watering practices...

how do you water it? do you let it get dry then water deeply? or have you been watering often and not much (quantity-wise)? it's best to water seldom and deeply when you do (with most mediums anyway).

well i dont water much becouse the growing sponge soaks it all up and hold is but even then i havent watered in 4 days and soil is moist about 1/2" under top
