Well its simple really i just took a box from a refrigerator 26 inches wide 25 inches long and 36 inches high. within i covered the walls with flat white posterboard paper and covered the top of the box with plexi glass i hung a 400w HPS lamp 6 inches from the plexiglass and cut a hole 12x12 at the top of the left corner 2 inches from the plexiglass for the outtake fan then i cut a 7x7 whole for the intake and covered it with a filter. is this a good enough grow room? should i make any adjustments? comments please.

are you talking about a cardboard box that a small fridge would come in? Or are you talking about the plastic casing inside an actual fridge?

yes it is a cardboard box and im filtering the intake for 2 reasons because it is in a dusty place which prevents the dust from getting in its a air filter normally used for air conditioners

yeah, and you wouldnt need a 12X12 exhaust hole either. Your intake should be BIGGER than your exhaust. And if you dont have a cooltube on that 400 you might burn that box down. So far, this sounds like a horrible setup

so you have the box outside? if the box is inside, it wouldnt matter if its outside....that bulb in that little space will get hot

Just ordered me a new air-cooled, or 'coolable' i should say, 400, so I've been lookin around here and there for some fans for it. Was thinkin of strappin a 400cfm 6" inline up to it, think that's enough?

More than enough. I'm running mine with a 174cfm fan and it works beautifully with my Homebox.

Sweet! Im about sick of having to deal with my old bat-wing 400, with the magnetic ballast built right in! I've found loads of fans, and the 400+ cfm one's are quite pricey-I"ve found em anywhere from $72-$200 online. Honestly, I'm more than willing to spend the dough if it gets that hps as close as possible, and keeps it cool. Thanks again guys!
