my friend is completely wrong...

my friend is completely wrong and too arrogant to listen to the sound advice of someone who knows more about plants than he does.

some one set him up with a hydroponic system and a big light and some little baby plants. he keeps the lights on 24/0 the plants are 2 weeks old and stressed and he is convinced they are flowering. i told him what he sees is the beginning of new leaf growth and those leafs will become branches with more leafs on that. but no, he KNOWS theyre pistils even though ive shown him what a real pistil looks like.

he is also under the impression that these plants will be done flowering within a month. HA! he sure is a dreamer, theres no way thell be done in less than two but he dont listen. i also told him before he starts flowering he needs to controll the light leaks and the smell, but he thinks im insulting him or something

i told him he needs a filter in a bad way because the whole place smells like dank. i told him i could probably make one for damn near free out of a fan, a box and the air conditioning filters from my house, maybe some charcoal and dried sheets. first he tells me that too ghetto of an idea, then he yells at me about how he can afford upgrades. i told him he cant afford to get caught

im ready to stop trying to help unless he asks for it, because he sure doesnt apreciate my knowlage sharing

I had dumbass friends do the same shit but it wasn't until after they failed they would listen to me,Then I was to busy to help.

My friends also said I was insulting him an putting him down by saying he didn't know how to grow lol.
They still haven't had a succesful grow yet,im gonna show them how to do it around spring time.

i hate when people tell me what to do. if i didn't ask, i don't need it. it's rude and insulting to try to "help" someone when they haven't asked for it. it says "hey clueless, let me get this for you". at least say "hey, do you need any help?" when they say "NO thanks", then just sit back and watch.

i like learning. i like trial and error. every failure leads to a discovery.

if you are doing a jigsaw puzzle and you get stuck and someone comes and stands over your shoulder and starts throwing down pieces and finishes half your puzzle doesn't it irk you? it does me.

Giving advice is all you can do. If he doesn't want to listen, that's up to him.
The best part is that afterwards you can look him in the eye and say "I told you so".

I may be wrong but activated carbon is made via a different process.

ya, fdd, i understand where your coming from, but he refuses to listen to anything or even do his own research, so i doubt he will ever learn

ive shown him RIU, firstly for budporn, then so he could get some ideas rolling around and i dont think he even remembers the site adress

and yeah, i cant wait to have an "i told you so " moment, i just hope its that his plants dont turn out well, and that im not right because he gets busted

That's so true tho!... I couldn't agree more fdd! When I show a friend a pic (a friend who has tried to grow, and has never been able to finish a grow) and he start's trying to tell me what I should do for my plant because it looks nute burned (when really a fan broke and what he saw was heat stress) it just tick's me off!.. I'm sorry, but this is my plant, that I'm growing, and you can't even finish a grow, and YOUR gonna tell ME what to do? Yea..... Thanks, see if you get anymore pictures. It's just insulting! He didn't know what the problem was, he only thought he did, and thought that he knew more about me to fix it... I'm sorry, but if I don't ask for help, I've got it under control! If I had a problem in the past, no need to try and solve it for me without me asking, cuz I've probably already figured it out online... Now if you are more expierenced than me, by all means, please DO throw any advice my way!..

That being said, I'm sure your friend has absolutely NO clue as to what he's doing! It doesn't really sound like he does. If he get's insulted by your (more experienced I'm assuming) advice then don't try to help. Let him fail (cuz he probably will) and then come crawling back for help! lol

I'd just let him fail, no one can bump their head on your behalf.
