After reading here and there, it seems there are a lot of different methods to make canabutter...So I took some info from everything and decided to try it myself.
I had a lot of dried Skunk#1 trim, so I tossed it into a coffee grinder and make a fine powder. I tossed in a hand full of bud to give it a little more kick. I ended up with 1.98 Oz of MJ powder. Just short of 2 ounces.
A 1.5GT slow cooker, 4 sticks of real butter, not that fake crap, and enough water to fill it. 4 hours on high and 20 hours on low simmer.
It formed up a nice chunk of very dark green/black butter. Since I didn't have enough room for the amount of water before, I put it back into the crock for an hour of so on low simmer and put enough water to fill it up for a 2nd wash. Then it will go through a coffee filter. With a little luck, I may get to try it out later tonight when it sets for the last time.
I never tried any edible MJ, so I am curious to try it out and see how it is. Maybe some spread on a few crackers?
