So I'm new to growing mushrooms and i decided to go for the brown rice method because i don't currently own a pressure cooker. So i am basically going to share my method with you guys so that way you can tell me if there is something wrong about it, as i said before i'm new to this and any help will be much appreciated!
1) Boil brown rice in a pot for 6-7 minutes.
2) Extract the water from the rice and put it in the jar. (leave a bit of space on top of the substrate)
3) Make 4 holes in the jar lid.
4) Place the lid on the jar and add some tin foil on the lid.
5) Fill half of the pot with water and place the jar in the pot.
6) Put a well fitted lid on the pot and start boiling the water. (to sterilize the cake)
7) Let the pot fill up with steam for about 1 hour.
Take out the jar and remove the tin foil.
9) Wait for the jar to cool down until it gets to room temperature.
10) inject the spore syringe. (around 2cc's)
11)Store the jar in a dark and dry place for 1-2 weeks.
Fruiting:
1) Wait until the jar is fully colonized.
2) Remove the lid
3) Place the jar in a air proof bag.
4) seal the bag with a paper clip. (so there is humidity in the bag)
5) Spray the bag 2-3 times a day with tap water.(to keep the humidity up)
6) Harvest when ready.
7) Dry and consume!
I hope this is alright, Please feel free to tell me if there is anything wrong with this method. Any advice will be much appreciated!
