I was reading a couple threads and alot have to do with peoples first grow...Some range from "best harvest" down to "I didnt make it out of sprout."

Just wondering what happen your first grow?

How much of a success or disaster was your first grow?

My first grow went surprisingly well apart from a lot on unnecessary worry about my precious girls, used to check and paw at them over 5 times a day. You get better after every grow, its a constant learning curve but the basics never change.. Keep lights on 24hrs a day during veg, lots of airflow, temps between 21c-30c, water when the pot feels light or if the lower leaves seem droopy. I use the biobizz range of nutes for veg, cheap and work great. For flower I use bat guano and mollases. Start with good seed/clones and do these things and you will have killer bud in 100 odd days. If you have any questions during your grow just ask.

Everyone told me I was a doosh for using CFL's had an awesome experince but then I made a huge mistake right at the end of flowering my new 1000 watt light came in the mail. I put the plants from the closet into the new tent with the HPS and torched all the leaves. The buds got really fat all of the sudden but some of the herb was toasted. The lesson learned was treat the plants like a picky girlfriend. You can't just change the plan on them or they get really pissed off.

i started with cfl and soil. they stretched alot and was using crappy seeds, but grew and budded decently. i cannot use soil due to needing to know exactly whats in it at the time and be able to change at any time. i since switched to hydro and a 400w hps, 216w t-5, and left the cfls to clones. they need lots of air too, i burned out a plant this way. cfls seem to produce more heat than t-5s and i tried to increase light by adding a mylar sheet which cut off air flow. it took me awhile to get high times quality smoke, but its worth it

Ha..ha.. yep thats some change from a few cfls to a mighty 1000w hps. We rarely get sun here in Ireland but during the summer we had a rare heatwave so I took one of my girls from here tent she had lived in for 2 months and put her outside, an hour later she looked fucked, droopy and saggy, an hour back indoors she was good as new, once you dont make any radical changes you cant go wrong... unless you fuck up and do something stupid.

Even with the leaves getting burnt off it seemd like the plant like that boost of heat the last 12 hours I left it under the HPS.
Certainly nothing wrong with that for a 99% cfl grow (Dunno wht peeps give cfls so much shit, they work!) I did the exact same thing a few weeks back with a moby hash plant, didnt check on them for a couple of days and the mobyhash due to the weight of her mighty dense buds leaned over right under the hps bulbs hot spot and ended up looking like yours, looked fine after trimming and tasted 100% and I swear it was smokable after just 3 days drying. Sorry abouy the crappy phone cam pics

Burnt Mobyhash looking well smokable.

My first grow was with a scrog and I pulled off about 3/4 lb with a 400w hps and 4 lemon skunks ..I did alot of reading before attempting and that really paid off..

Thats a nice yield for a 400w, 3 ounces a plant, thats not too far off a gram per watt. I have to totally agree with you about reading LOTS, google is a wonderfull tool for the urban grower... I pose google questions like "why are my leaves turning yellow and drooping?" and google always magically takes me to an answer.

my first grow was alright. i burned the entire root system but she pulled through. i harvested an ounce off the plant. it was by a windowsill at my house. i didnt know anything about pH, different nutes, salt buildups, flushing etc. i just attempted to grow and it worked.

this year i am doing better, just slight nute burn problems this year but thats it. still some nice plants.

i think the grow after this one will be my best one, this year i learned alot. growing weed is one of the easiest things. once you have 1 successful grow more follow.

my first grow went well. grew ak-48 LST method. i also used cfls (10-42 watt). i harvested my plants at 5 and 6 weeks into flower and still got an ounce per plant.

Well you just keep doing what your doing and dont make any drastic changes because thats an above average yield, only way to get more would be with co2 enrichment or something but I dont think you need it, what your doing is working great. The max I get is 500g from 6 plants under a 600w hps, about 3 ounces per plant, my first grow was about 2 ounces per plant because I chopped them a little early.

My first grow was with 3x 42w CFL's of bag seed which turned out ot be compact little Indica's in a make shift tent i built with 2x2's and garbage bags. I ended up getting a half oz per plant. And luckily the plants survived the miracle grow I used on them at the time. I harvested them at 10% amber and they were a fun smoke. Ultimately it wasa humid summer nad they molded in the jars but it was fun and I learned alot none the less.

I am not sure yet but Looks pretty good so far. Big buddah at 38 days of flowering and still going. I noticed my first couple of red hairs yesterday so only 2 weeks left. She was totally grown on 1000 watt HPS.015.jpg

Definitely more than two weeks left, that will go to at least day 70, she hasnt started to put on weight yet, they are baby little buds not big buddas. Be patient, if you take her in two weeks yield and potency will suffer big time.

Yep its very hard to wait for your girls to finish your first time, as soon as I saw one amber trich I pulled em, most were cloudy but a few were still clear. It was still the best homegrown pot Ive ever smoked, unfortunatley most people in Ireland smoke dirt weed, its do it yourself or smoke tasteless dirt.
