My first grow… With pictures, any suggestions?

I am growing in a cedar lined closet in my basement. It is pretty air tight so I don’t think anyone will notice any weird smells. I have (4) four foot florescent lights above the plants. 2 are soft white and 2 are day light. I have (1) 3 foot florescent cool white running down the middle between the 2 rows of plants that I turn on occasionally for extra light. I have the lights on 24/7. I water about every other day. I just added miracle grow all purpose plant food (24-8-6) half strength to my 6.4 ph distilled water. They have been in dirt about 2.5 weeks now. I have read a lot of great posts here. I feel like I have done my research.

Have I missed anything? Any suggestions?

yeah you'll be fine with this setup untill flowering.

if you're not going with HPS for flowering i'd at least get a few CFLs like 10+ of them, and surround your plants with them.

oh and nice table setup

also do you have any fans in there? should get something to circulate the air.
 
I plan to start flowering when they get about 3.5 feet tall. Lights 12/12. Nutes miracle grow bloom booster 15-30-15. I’m not sure about the lights I should use for flowering. All soft white?????
 
you do know that bloom booster 15-30-15 is a additive right sowatch out for nut burn i myself dont like MG i like to stall with foxfarm has not done me wrong yet

a friend of mine had a similar set up, he actually just had 2 more fluros then you do, we only ended up getting 22 grams dry.
My last grow I used a 400 w hps and got 3 oz per plant, so its really up to you!

Yes I understand that the bloom booster is added to the water. I have read that it should be applied at half strenght. This is my first grow, if this works out OK I will spend more money on nutes, seeds, and probably lights too. I will watch for nute burn. Do you think I should start the bloom booster at quarter strength to be safe?

how much does a guy usually spend on a 400 w hps?

I agree if you have the cash you should go with the hps, but i heard those t5 flos work pretty well also and there pretty cheap.
 
Damn, I was hoping I could get through my first grow on little or no money, but it sounds like to test my ability and get something to smoke I will have to spend some cash…….

watch your plant


I would just to be safe so you can get the feel of what your plant thinks of it and if he likes it give him a lil more . just watch your plants
 
I dont know if i read it right but did u say ur going to start flowering at 3.5 feet....??id u did say that u cannot wait that long....they willb e like 10 ft tall when they finish..I stat 12/12 at 12"-14"tall and they end up about 4' to 41/2 ...so mabe u should rethink that...and yes hps is the way to go...HTG is a great store....200 dollars will gbget u what u need to get a decent crop..smoke on..peace...

i did say 3.5 feet fatherhood. Thanks for saving me from that nube mistake :)

so flower at about 12''-14'' tall, anything else i should beware of?

Hey whats goin on greenfarmer. I use the same Nutes for now since I cant get my hands on anything good. 15-30-15 bloom booster from MG. The only thing I can say is watch your PH after adding these nutes. They threw my PH WAY off, thank god I corrected it. There is a 10/52/10 bloom booster that MG makes also, but I cant find it anywhere. Do a half of a teaspoon that they give you per gallon. Then go up from there. So far my baby is liking the 15-30-15BB. I really want that 10/52/10 though..

I will keep an eye on the ph. i'm thinking I should transplant to something bigger, or should I wait til i'm ready to flower? what type of lights are you using?
