First of all, I have yet to mention this.... Dont mind the names, if you see names written on the red cups. I let my girlfriend name them to humor her, and the red cups wont be around much longer anyways. Secondly, if they look slighly droopy in this picture it is because they were watered about an hour and a half ago, and they are saggin a little from all the drinking they are doing. This will fix itself within a few more hours they will be nice a perky again

My only concern, is if you look closer on plant 1. The bottom level of leaves, the un-serrated leaves... the tips of them are yellowing... is this normal?

I'm not feeding anything, I'm balancing the ph levels perfectly, and the lights were not close enough to do damage...

The camera makes it look a little worse than it does to the human eye, this kinda looks like both the leaves are very yellow... that is not the case however, my camera is just low quality. Its only the very tips of these 2 leaves that are actually yellowing

Wednesday March 5th (Day 12)
Soil PH = 6.5ish
Temp= 77*
Humidity= 29%

Thursday March 6th (Day 13)
identical stats, however the 1 tallest plant with the slightly yellow leaves that nobody bothered to respond about was posted in the plant hospital part of this forum and I was basically told they were ready for more room, and food. So I went out and bought Foxfarm organic plant food for growth (and flowering) and then transplanted the plants when I got home.

I mixed the foxfarm about 1/2 of the called for instructions on the back and watered the plants after I finished transplanting.

Friday March 7th (day 14)-

The plants really show no sign of taking the transplant bad. They all look pretty much like they did when I put them in. The one's bottom leaves are now all yellow, and another one is starting this (I later found out this is normal, those leaves fall off before maturity anyway).

Anyways, not much new to report, they look good. No neaitive signs

Saturday March 8th (day 15) -

Now two days after the transplant, they seem to have taken it just great. They seem to like the food as well, I only gave them a light watering on thursday night due to the added food and the scare of shock. They drank it right up, they are definately going to need some water tonight as you can see in the pictures. But they are looking beautiful

I ran out of big pots due to a ghost stealing them?! So I used some medium sized pots that I planed on using to start the next grow. So they may need another transplant... who knows. I tried to transplant them almost up to the first set of leaves so they had a chance to grow out and then up so the stem will be healthy and strong.

I'm not sure if anyone is actually following this but if you are lol, I have a few questions that I'll be researching tonight, if anyone has some experience or tips would be much appreciated.

1.) I'm considering a custom DIY reflective hood, and 2 more Y splitters for the top sockets (They have a 660W limit, I'm only at 78W or a 300W equivilant so I figured I could add 1 more) and do away with the side lights for now untill they get bigger.

Anyone have any good DIY methods to a reflective hood?

2.) I just started adding Foxfarm organic growth neuts. I mixed slightly less than 1/2 the suggested daily feeding on the back.

Should this be used for every watering? I'm sure I read something about this somewhere but its my day off... long day of sitting and blazing.

3.) This is months down the road (I live in ohio) but I was thinking... In summer time when I have the A/C on the room temperature is going to be preferably below 70. Now by this time I'll be living in a new appartment, I'll be moving shortly after the 'ideal' first harvest. So I'm unaware of where the grow box/possibly room lol will be.

Will I have to use space heaters/ etc durring ac time?

nah,
im a n00b too, so take my advice as you want,
i think the lights around the plants should create enough heat to keep your babies warm.

yea but the point here was, durring the summer time when my a/c is on, and the lights are off....

cause currently the heat is on, and when the lights are off it will drop to around 70 (room temp). If in the summer time room temp is say 60... will that be an issue? It will be warm enough while the lights are on... but what about the dark period?

anyways....

Thursday, March 13th (day 20) -

New pictures, and concerns.... but also some good news.

Good news is, 4 of the 5 are looking pretty heatlhy and strong. I'm very happy with their progress. However the 1 little girl that had some yellowing early seems to be struggling a little. I'm really having a hard time figuring out why, if anyone could please let me know anything you may know... I'm worried about her.

Here are the pictures

I tried a new lighting setup here ^ last night. I have 8 of the cfls hanging there just multiple Y splitters. Not currently using the side sockets

Here is my sick little girl... any idea whats causing this? The tips of her bigger bottom set of leaves are like almost black and thined out... up higher some are curled under... the remainder are yellow or yellowing.

- I just started feeding a few days ago. With less than 1/2 the recomended on the back of foxfarm
- Lights are definately not close enough to burn
- Ph of soil is checked daily, water is checked every watering

well make sure ur room ia sealed, all grow rooms shud be sealed so no light can escape and none can get in this is vital!!! and if its still low jus get lil heater the room is so little :D

please do not feed seddling with there cotyledon still greena nd not even fallen of, wait 2 weeks now please, there enuff dissolved nutes in the soil, and the water to last em tiilllll the roots can cope, and that sic little girl, is over watered i think its curling, firmly down, jus leave her alone and stop picking on her :D she will be a lovelyladie along with all the others, only water once teh soil is dry, this way u can encourage root growth the key to a sexy plant is sexy roots!!! those pots shuddnt neeed watering for 5 days at a time :?

first of all... Thanks for all the advice!

The transplant was all good grim, at this point right now I'm 21 days in... I was always told 2-3 weeks into growth feed small amounts of nutes like every other watering. Should I really wait 2 more weeks to feed?

I seem to be struggling with the watering. With the pots they are in now how much water should I be giving? I've been watering about every 3 days or so (once the soil looks real dry and the top layer begins cracking) the 3 larger pots I'm giving about a half cup of water, and the 2 medium pots about 1/3 cup

Should I give less the next couple waterings since they are over watered?

What's goin on man? Good luck on this grow....I will be following this. I'm just starting out on my grow to. I had attempted this before and it failed miserably. I plan on putting a little more effort in this time.

One question...where did you find those Y splitters?? I went to Home Depot and didn't see any. Can I order them online?

Y Splitters for Regular sized light sockets can be found just about anywhere. Lowes, Home Depot, or Walmart. I got a few at lowes, then another couple at walmart. Only like 1.50 a piece. In lowes they will be found in the electrical department, at walmart they were in the same isle as the light bulbs
