My first grow setup... Starting small.

My first grow:

This is an impromptu hydro/bubbleponics setup made from the stuff in my basement. Here's a parts list and my plan for using it.

-Weight bench frame
-3 ecolux t8 bulbs in fixture
-supplementary 100 watt incandescent Radioshack spot light.
-Small 1 watt blue/red LED
-Aquaculture air pump
-6" airstone
-Assorted stones/slate checkers.
-Peat pellet propagation chamber,
-Vicks vaporub fogger.
-Cans of soda full of water
-Can of half empty Coors light.
-(Don't bite my head off, please) MG Nutes
-Old head unit and speakers
-12v 3 amp radioshack power supply

I'm doing this as a trial to see for myself the best variables for plant growth... I'd like to get as big a plant in as short a time as I can, and there are so many conflicting stories as to how to do this online that I'm just figuring it out for myself. Adding wacky stuff like sound and fog foliar feeding, as well as supplemental lighting from an LED while it's still in seedling stage so far has worked out OK.

It's set up as shown in the picture... The small tote is filled with rocks, airstone, and nute water... Placed in a large tote filled with water up to the water level in the small tote. In the water in the bigger tote, is a vicks Vaporub fogger, to keep the humidity up and supply a constant temperature. The cans of soda are simply for temperature stabilization, and the beer is my CO2 generator. I'll be experimenting with adding nutes to the fogger to see if it has any positive effects on the plant, and adjusting sound levels and types through the head unit.

The head unit serves a dual purpose, in providing sound for the plant, as well as providing ambient heat cheaply.

With the top on the big tote, the temperature of the water is about 72*. and I'm not sure of the air temp, but it's warm and humid.

In the future:

I'm also going to experiment with an HHO generator under the roots, as well as running a tiny electrical current through the nute water, or creating an electro magnetic field around it.

Eventually, I'd even like to subject my plants to hyper gravity with a centrifuge, but that's far to come.

This is all just stuff I've only been able to find tidbits about online, that is supposed to be good for plant growth.

Note: I germinated the seed with the lights off in a peat pellet sitting in the humid environment. I'm sure the peat pellet was at least partially saturated in the nute water, and this picture is only 20 hours after I put the ungermed seed in the box. I'm not sure if that's awesome or not because this is my first grow, but it seems pretty dang good.

P.S. Everything I ever say here isn't real... It's just fanciful stories strung together.

You will be surprised how you start small and before you know if you spent more money and upgraded to like a 6 plant flowering room. Is a very addictive hobby

Yeah, I can see that already... I'm obsessed with the thing, and it's only the size of my thumbnail. I'm almost certain that since it's only one plant, I'm just going to LST it rather than using any of the scrog methods.

I'm sure I'm going to eventually turn this into an aeroponics vScrog setup for about 48 plants.

For now, though, my ultimate goal is to have this one plant trimmed and cured within three months from germination, and to harvest at least 4 ounces from it. Kinda lofty goals for my first grow, but I'm willing to put in the time and effort.
