a clone cannot go into soil until it has formed some roots.
this is not true. any cutting you take can be cloned in soil. you just have to make sure all your variables are in check. temps, humidity, etc. you dont need to spend any money to clone your plant, it just helps tons.

no i chill with my closet door open.. otherwise it would get hot. they are just three cfl bulbs mayne

so how would i wanna take a cuttin cause a have rockwool cubes.. but i doubt i could just pluck the clone back out of the cube for a transplantation.. so where/what would i stick the clone into after cutting it at 45degree angle? they are pretty big now. i need some suggestions. will post pics.

ok, technically he's right, but practically speaking i don't know of anyone who sticks their new clones in dirt - it's so much harder to get to work than sticking them in a glass of water. rooting solution, a water glass and a week or so and you'll have lots of roots to get your clone going.

so like a mini hydro tub? just dip the cutting in root solution and set it between some hygroton clay just the same but in like a small thing that holds like 4oz of water?

a cloner is a mini hydro tub. if you have something like vermiculite in place of hygroton it wicks water a little better, but clay will work.

i take the cutting from a sturdy branch. dip it in rooting hormone, and stick it in the rockwool.

you dont have to take it out of the rockwool, just plant it.

whats important is the temp and the humidity, make sure the rockwool doesnt dry out or stay soaking.

if you have the money to buy a cloner, go for it, but simple works.

the best method ive used is using rockwool. my attempt at building a cloner failed because i didnt have enough money to buy a new pump to push my mister heads, so i used an ultrasonic fogger and it overheated my reservoir.

the 3 plants i have in flower in the link in my signiture were all cloned into rockwool, no humidity dome, under 1x 105watt cfl. as you can see they did just fine. i took 5 more cuttings yesterday into rockwool and 4 out of the 5 have already perked up.

as soon as i have some money to toss around i am going to finish building my cooler cloner though, so dont write off what desert rat is telling you. aero/fog/and bubble cloners work great if you can get them dialed in.

yes the rockwool is the easiest approach but thats just if you are ready to commit to more plants of your own in a dwc tub. and i just wanna get one or two rooted for him so we can compare soil vs hydro. but i think when i try to do i i will use 5.9 ph water and bubbles inside a dark lil tub and just see what happens. i will be cuttin one off the two biggest plants i think. thanks guys

i didnt think of just sticking the rockwool in soil. duh duh duh lol

fuck yeah for rockwool

The last day of veg..

the light get shut off early tonight. and a nute change to floranovabloom. and the 6500k lights get replaced with 3000k sectrum

i moved the plants to a less open part of the closet so they will get better light. it is a little more hot over there but oh well.

any guesses on final dry weight of the buds?

it is awesome man the only thing that sucks is trying to get the ph right with not that high quality testers and guessin how much ph up to put in after the nutrients. the roots just run free and suck up water and oxygen and what not very fast! and the plant uses virtually no energy to push the roots since gravity brings them down so all that energy is going to foliage

Looking really good mate iv got some white rhino goin at the mo hope they end up lookin as good as yours ;-)

thanks man! we celebrated the good veg stage with 2 hits each out of a gallon gravity with a fat socket bowl on it filled full of chronic. man we were beyond ripped.

well shit... these plants are growing so fast.. they have already started poppin out with pistils on the higher levels of the plants!

they are on about 430ppm of floranova bloom now. i had low ph last time due to no calibration solution so my tester was off but they are tough plants!

one of my 3000k flowering bulbs was defective... got a 6500k replacement until it arrives the 7th.

i am thinking i will get over my expected yeild of 4-5 ounces dry. i hope!

and hopefully i will have enough rootspace to finish without any problems!

paid way too much money for it, but you can easily make one with as many sockets as you want for half the price of a hydro store sells it for

the bulbs are 105 watt medium base

nice grow +Rep

How many watts is the middle u-tube bulb?

I'm using two 42 watt medium base bulbs right now, I can only hope to see something like what you have there.
