another update. i put the camera away before i put her back in the box...so next round of pics i'll get some of her in there.

week 10 since sprout, week 6 since 12/12, week 4 actual flower.

i'm having some sort of a deficiency, i think? my initial thoughts are nitrogen def, but i have no clue. anyone have an idea? i'm gonna make a thread in the plant problems forum too...but, i've been only watering with ~36oz of water every 2-3 days, depending on how dry the soil is. if it's warmer, usually 2 days, cooler, 3, sometimes 4 days between waterings. water is RO water that pH's ~6.5-7 (using the general hydroponics drop kit). i did do 5 feedings with miracle grow cactus food (2-7-7) but each one was ~1/3 strength of recommended dosage. the buds seem to be doing fine, it's just concerning now that the yellowing is getting closer to the buds now...

i went out of town yesterday/today and got back about 30 min before the lights come on in the box..she's really starting to smell now. haha. i'll post some pics tonight...she's started to look kinda ugly since the nitrogen def...:( probably going to feed again tonight. it's been 3 or 4 days i think, but it has been pretty cool (temps) lately, so she hasn't been too thirsty.

so i had promised pics last night..but i was too tired. snapped a few tonight. looks like i might have a little bit of a nute burn...i added some lime to the soil to try and up my pH. i think i'm gonna let her dry out really well and then do a flush to try and get some of that lime into the soil and bring up the pH a bit. the buds are still growing and getting more and more frosty though, so it doesn't seem like the N def is causing too many issues (which i wouldn't think it would, since it's mostly P and K that is needed in flower). anywho, pics!

week 11 since sprout
week 7 since 12/12
week 5 actual flower (day 34 since showing first pistils)

not too much going on. still decent bud growth; and it looks like there are still new pistils appearing. i watered her tonight. i'm more or less giving up on the nitrogen def/pH imbalance. i added some lime to the soil and i'm just going to keep watering it. for it to really effect the pH of the soil it takes a while, so i'm not even sure if it will do anything. not much i can do about it, so just gonna keep on keepin' on. and also the fact i only have a few more weeks (getting excited..:bigjoint:) and from what i understand they really don't need much nitrogen at this point. and everything else seems to be growing fine. it looks like there's some new leaves that have grown out from the main stalk that look green and healthy..or i just haven't noticed them before..haha, so i'm taking that as that it's not as bad as i thought. i got a 60x-100x handheld microscope and it looks like most of the trichomes are milky, only saw a couple amber ones. and looking at each of the colas it looks like they're all about the same.

for drying, i'm just going to pull the lights out of my box and use it to dry them in. as of now the RH in the box ranges from 39%-58% and the temps (this is also when the lights are on) ranges from 69*-84*F. i'd say the average temp with the lights off is ~68-72*. are those conditions okay/ideal for drying? and should i do anything to lower/raise RH or temp if need be?

update, to anyone who is following:

week 12 since sprout, week 8 since 12/12, exactly 6 weeks (42 days) since first pistils.

the pH of the soil seems to be coming up..i tested the runoff tonight and it's between the 5.0 and 6.0 colors on the bottle (190ppm). i'm guessing the trichomes are about 20% clear, 75% cloudy and 5% amber..but it's kind of hard to tell. the 60x scope i got is almost too much and i can't see a wide enough area of the bud. i noticed there are trics completely covering the bottom part of the scope now though..haha. i'm thinking probably another 2 weeks at least? anyways, pictures. and i finally got a couple of her in the box..for size reference, the bulbs are 23 watt cfl's, and that's a standard power strip in there. the bottom fan is a 120mm and the upper one is an 80mm.

thanks. the buds are as dense as they look..honestly a bit surprised by some of the stuff i've read about airy buds from cfl's. i'm so ready to chop her down! i'd rather have a heady high, so depending on where my tric's are at by week 7, i might chop her a bit 'early.' last i had checked they were almost all cloudy, with very few amber. i'm really stoked with how the side shoots are turning out. earlier on i didn't think they would end up producing much. she smells great. i can't really pinpoint the smell, other than just fresh weed..haha. i don't really notice her smelling up my room, and when i take her out of the box she doesn't stink too bad..until i start poking around. but it could also be that i've just been acclimated to the smell and the whole house reeks... i watered last night, ppm's of my runoff are ~190ppm and the pH is finally starting to come up and is now reading ~5.5. whoo hoo! too bad it's probably too late for that to really matter. lesson learned for next time. i picked up a glass jar and a remote temp/humidity sensor to monitor the RH today. might get some pics up tonight, but probably not. i'll update in a few days

checked the tric's this morning before her bedtime. there's a good bit more amber trics now. tuesday will be 7 weeks flowering exactly. i'm going to see what my work schedule is like next week and base the dark period off when i have time to chop. since most of my fan leaves have died off/fallen off, trimming shouldn't be too difficult/time intensive..ha.

i have a few questions about drying/curing though. how long should they hang to dry for? i've read things from 4 to 7 days. and should the stem snap or not snap? am i going for the outside of the buds feeling dry or what? i know i don't want to dry them too fast, but i also don't want to dry them too slow. and then after that, throw em in the jar and then burp every 12 hrs or so for the first week? then once a day for the next? i saw somewhere some 'guidelines' of RH for the drying/curing stages, but i don't remember what they are/where i found them
