My first grow ever! Hoping for 6+ ounces per plant.

because the 600's will make thicker stronger foundations to create 8oz plants your looking to get. 400's just dont cut it. always room for improvements...
 
For veg I'm using SolisTek 600 watt ballasts with Eye Hortilux 600w MH bulbs. Flower is SolisTek 1000w ballasts with Eye Hortilux 1000w Super HPS bulbs.
 
How come you were running them at 400 ? Turn those suckers up! You will have 50wpsf at 1200w in your Veg area which will be real nice...By the way for a first grow your doing real good bro!
 
600w HPS are the MOST EFFIECENT HPS AROUND ! I would totally upgrade your 400w to a 600w hps they are beast. I prefer them over 1000w hps, I am investing in 3 600w hps for my grow room soon right now I use just LEDs.
 
All of the veg equipment is 600w capable, just need to turn it up.

I have a question though. I run a single 22 SEER 24,000 BTU mini split. The mini split, CO2 generator, and carbon scrubber are located in the Veg Room. Each Flower Room then has a pair of 8" Vortex inline fans, intake and exhaust, that run only during lights on. Is there a more efficient configuration than my current lung room setup?
