sorry to all those belivers in CFL's I dont have anything against them. You could have 400watt's worth of CFL's and still not produce the amount of light coming from a 400watt MH. Althought the beauty of CFL's is you can place them anywhere around the plants and seriously close as there is little to no heat coming from them... To me the cons outweigh the pros...

Cheers kwaka

The little paper lids that come on top of the Grow Net when you take it out of the kit and it still has other seeds in it...

The little paper that says "Salad Greens" on it..... use those or cut your own out of some dark paper or something

so i went ahead and transplanted it to an outdoors pot, its now sitting on my back porch. south texas has some good bright sun, so im going to see if it perks up and lives or dies. i dont have any nutes or any supplemental lights yet. i went to go buy both today and both stores were closed for memorial day. so i figure what the hell, ill let the runt stay in the ag, and my stronger plant that was starting to die go out in the sun and be an outdoors plant. as soon as i get back to town tommorow since i live in the country, ill buy 4 clfs, 2 y socket adapters, 2 clamp light sockets and a seed pack. and ill restart my grow hopefully with better results. it sucks i only could give the plants water and the standard ag lights.

ill keep ya posted on the one plant in the ag, and ill take pics of the outdoors plant when i can.

thanks for all the advice and help, my next grow will be better prepared.

plus it sucks that im on felony probation and cant smoke anyways. my girlfriend can though, thats why i was growing to give her some good smoke.

What's up man, just read the journal. Sounds like your off to a decent start man. You definitely need to get some more light in there man, those plants are stretching bad. If you wanna go HID, get a High Pressure Sodium set up. It will be a bit pricey to start with, but it provides your plants with the widest color spectrum along with plenty of lumens to help your plants grow. Also, a UV bulb is a great way to make your plants happy.

CFL's are good if you don't have a lot of money to throw into a grow yet or if you need to worry about being discreet. Although, as was said before, you will not see the yield that a HID will produce.

Take a look at everyone's grows, and I mean everyone's. There is so much information in this forum that you would almost never have to ask a question. But in the case that you do, we are all here to help.

Here's a link to my first and second grow journals.

i bought 6 cfls and 3 clamp light sockets, and y adapters. the only nutrients i could find was some schultz liquid plant food. you use 4 dropperfuls per gallon. and its 10-15-10 i believe.

im just experimenting until i have my lights setup and i go out and buy good nutrients to actually grow in this machine right. i still have to buy a new ag pump. 10 bucks big deal. but its just money i dont have, esp since court is friday and i gotta pay the man. and i got a new apt. but when im up and running you guys will know
