My First Grow, Complete noob Any Advice welcome. Thanks

Thanks all got my mate bringing round some paint today going to get messy ha
right so i finally had the balls to top (well i think iv done it right) my plants
have a lookie
The one in my hand is from the bigger of the two plants and this is how it looks now

Have i taken enough off ? Im i right in thinking this will slow down the plants growth a bit ? i kinda want to because im not ready to flower yet. Waiting to get a 400w hps (hopefully have by next week) just looking for a cheap ballast on ebay. I im guessing i should stop feeding them now, just water ye ? I also need to sort the back of my wardrobe out. basically the back of it was broken so i ripped it out and just covered it up with a blanket but this lets light in so no good for flowering. going to board it up properly.

Also flushing when do i need to do this. I know about 2 weeks before harvest but should i do it now as well (before flowering) ? cheers

Painting done (so much brighter now) Right so who thinks this is a good idea?
I live in 3 floor apartments and when i had my ladys out to paint the wardrobe i realized how sunny my room actually is. From about 12pm to about 4pm i get constant sun through my sliding door (also a very nice fresh breeze) so iv kept the plants out of the wardrobe and placed them where there getting a good 4 hours of sun light. now will they appreciate this ? or will the change from 20hours a day CFL light then the 4ish 5 hours of natural light confused and stress them out ? Heres a picture

As long as the light is good you'll be ok.
I veg using 12hrs light in the flower room
then out to the greenhouse during the day.
Works for me. I can almost keep a perpetual grow going with only one light. In the darker winter months I just throw in a few at 12/12

Flushing is a myth. Just don't feed at the strengths on the bottle. I go a little over half and stop feeding about 2 weeks before chop just plain water. Not everyone is gonna agree with me but like I e said - works for me.

Nutes companies don't really care about you growing good weed. They just want to sell more nutes. Then as you get more experienced you can judge by the plant if you can push it harder

Push too hard too quick and you will get deficiencies and they can be hard to remedy.

When you fix up your wardrobe make sure it's absolutely light proof. This is very important. A small leak will fuck things up.

Also there is a saying on here
No smell No sell No tell
Don't tell anyone you grow. i know 2 growers that were screwed by ex-girlfriends.
You tell your GF she mentions it to her friend she tells someone and it goes downhill from there. No badness just idle gossip. Next thing LEO's at your door
Instead just come on here and tell us. We know how it is.

cool man, i gave them a flush a few hours ago before saw your comment, cant hurt i guess. Ye with the wardrobe im getting thick black plastic sheet (paint it white inside) and staple it to the back so its completely sealed. No light will be coming in. Only 3 of my close mates know about the grow i know what your saying loose lips sink ships. Even if worse came to the worse and i get caught as its not legal to grow hear in uk but there pretty relaxed if for personal. Any thing over 9 plants you will get fucked (intent to supply) I'v only got 2 and im growing it for medical reasons im having shoulder surgery in 2 months and i dont want to be taking morphine and tramadol for pain (had problems in the past getting off them) with that defense i'll most likely get a slap on the wrist or they fine you 150% of your weekly income. what did you think of my topping ?

Kinda hard to see but I think you have the gist of it. Don't be afraid to do it again in like a weeks time or so
