My first grow and journal

Update and Upgrade!
So I haven't really been doin anything different with the plants the past few days until now.
I could finally get my hands on some pots. Could only get 3, so I transplanted the 3 eldest.
The pots are 1/2 gallon each. These will be a lot better than those plastic cups they were in.

More to add to the upgrade.
I got myself a few CFL's.
6-26w (100w equivalent)
and 1 monster 46w (150w equivalent).
I got these at Wal-mart for 20 some bucks together. The 6 pack was around 14 and the 150 was like 9 bucks.
I have them plugged into socket plugs that can be plugged into any wall outlet.
I placed 3 on one power strip, and 3 +the 150w on another strip.

BOOM!


Here you can see the new pots. Bigger and a lot more room for bigger and better roots

Here's with the lights on. They are so bright, it makes my fluoro tubes and hps look like they are not even on!!

I went to lowe's and tried to look for those huge Mogul CFL's I hear a lot about.
I need to check Sears and see if they got em.
Lowe's did have 70, 100, 150, 200 and 400 watt HPS and MH bulbs. The 400 only being around 25 bucks.
They didn't have the ballast for the 400w or I probably would have gone with it instead of CFLs. They only had up to 150w hps.
There also isn't a hydro store anywhere around here. So where can I get hydroton?
I may use all perlite instead of hydroton for my bubble set up. Ill need to order some hydro food first. Its bout my only set back right now.

LOL yeah I found some styrofoam plates to go under there. They seem to be workin for now, just hope they don't break down after I water em a few times.

I also put hooked my timer up to everything about a week ago. So now they're on a constant 18 on 6 off, instead of me wakin up late or not being home in time.

These CFL's put out more heat than I thought they would. 1 or 2 probably don't put out too much heat. But when you put 6 100w eq. and a 150w eq. together i can tell a significant increase in ambient temp of the room. I still have the fan in the same place. It's blowing directly on the lights, plants, and up into the hps.
I can hover my hand around the plants for a minute and not be burnin so I guess it's not too hot. Where it's also blowing basically on the plants I hope they don't get wind burn. They are still pretty small for their age, but thats from the low light and those small cups this whole time. I guess.

I'm thinking the plants aren't growing good from where they went into flowering. I been keepin the lights at 18 on, hope they take hold now that I have more light.

Here is what used to be the smallest plant that I didn't think would make it. Now it has the biggest leaves.
Looks like this one dried up some too -_-


I will keep pushin through, I'll get them comin along.

Here is the one I topped. Still not sure if I did it right, but it's looking the best of the 3 oldest.


It has a bunch of growth that looks like it's comin from the flowering areas.

I can't find the specs of these CFL's anywhere. They are GE so I would think since they are a major light distributor it would be easy. Anyways, I think they are more towards the 2700k side since with the lights it looks more orange colored.

With the lights on.


With them off, as you can see it looks a lot more white.


Not sure, but I'm hoping they are useful and not some temperature in the green spectrum or somethin -_-

Here are my newer sprouts.
They seemed to be doing good with just the fluoro tubes over them.
Now that I got those CFL's they are looking great!


I even smelled one and it was smellin better than the older ones.
This is why I think my older plants are goin through a lot of stress from goin into flower and back into veg. and aren't growing good.

well...bout to smoke the dried leafs I picked off. Don't waste any of my plant, even chew on the stems to taste the goodness.

I don't know what it is, but somehow I can already see the 4 babies are female.
Maybe it's my germination technique or maybe I'm just really lucky, I don't know what it is.
But all 7 plants I have started from seed have become female. This is crazy and mind blowing to me.
I keep hearing around 50% of seeds are male, but I haven't chose one yet.
The fact that makes it even more crazy is that these were all bag seeds from good mids.
Just throwin it out there, I think it's pretty cool.
LOL I can't get my plants to grow big but I can get you a female! lol

Ok that was me being really shitty, but seriously listen. There is no way of telling if you got males or females yet, they are too fucking little. Also man they do not look good, and they are not going to make buds like that. Also the "supercropping" forget it man, dont cut shit off them, they are too small and sickly looking. I hope this is really a joke thread, if it isnt then just veg your plants man. Go with like 20 hours on 4 off. Dont cut off shit, and dont do shit until they start to look like real fucking pot plants, period.

First of all super cropping involves no cutting. Sounds like you don't know anything your talkin about.
They are in veg. and have been since I have been growing. Maybe you should read the thread before you talk shit.
They have been in plastic cups the whole grow until I got the bigger pots, maybe thats why they aren't big...
70w hps, isn't gonna grow much of anything. Just got the CFL's and first grow so it's trial and error. Most of all this is just practice for now.
Wow, if your gonna hate at least do some research so you know what your talkin about. Period.

The youngest are doin good. The old ones seem to be stuck. The topped one looks like its growin new growth. They all seem to be growing some.
Maybe I was wrong on the all female thing. They need to grow a lot more probably. Maybe the growth on the cropped one is just preflowers.
IDK, it still is my first grow. I'll take some more pics in a day or two and update.
Nothin new really goin on. Instead of feeding the miracle grow slightly with all the grows, I'm starting to only give it water and a more potent dose of MG like once a week. I might feed them tomorrow and see how it goes.

pwizzle, plants have been growing some time now you should be seeing some real nice growth if not things are not right. I will wait to see those pics to go any further....
