anything helps really. never grown before so i have decided to keep the things small (small pots) and and growing them in normal miracle grow using just distilled water. 42w 65k and 38w 27k CFL lights. the first little one has its own 23w 65k light about 2" away. :weed:

yeaaaa.. they dont look too bad.. think that you deff got some nute burn on them.. which is what all the spots are... and the edges that are discolored.. have you used any nutes yet?? and if you are.. deff hold back on them for a few days.. maybe even a week.. or you could flush them.. thats pretty easy to do.. just dump 5X as much water as your container holds... if that makes any sense..?? lol.. like say you have a 1 gallon container.. you dump 5 gallons in.. and that will clear up any nute build-up. =)

also.. once you learn how to flush them.. its supposed to be good to do it maybe once every few weeks.. maybe once a month.. theres not exact time you should do it.. but its good to do because sometimes.. you can get a salt buildup.. and flushing your plants will help get rid of that.. or any other build-up you may have.. but other than that your plants are looking good man.. ehat kinda lights you got for them??

also... you may want to cut off the lower leaves that are all nasty looking.. idk.. its more of a personal choice.. some people will say cut them off.. some people will say leave them.. im not tryna tell you wat yo do.. but in MY opinion.. i would cut them off.. it just makes the plant look better in general.. and if there is anything wrong with that leaf.. it will keep it from infecting any more of the plant..

hope that helped.. im subscribing.. soo ill try to stick around and help you out as much as i can throughout your grow.. as long as you keep everyone updated with nice pictures liek the ones you just took.. ill/we'll be glad to help.. Good Luck!!

We don't really get enough info to give an exact answer.............those spots on the leaves can be caused by over fertilizing, nutient deficiency, over/under watering......or even just water that splashed the soil onto the lower leaves..... I'm more bothered by two things......1) the ways the leaves droop....healthy plants will point slightly upwards...as if reaching for the light........2) node distance on the taller plants...... Do you have a fan on them? That alone could help a lot..........air movement allows the plants to breath fresh air, transpire more water and stretch less......
Remove the bad leaves.......I believe they draw bugs.....if you'd have to remove too many, cut the bad parts out.

I don't think it's nute burn..........for sure it isn't nitrogen burn....if it was, almost every leaf tip would be brown..... I think more likely you need a little N and the plant is taking it from the fan leaves since it can't get it from the roots.........So let's be clear......you meant you're in miracle grow potting soil?? And you haven't fed with outside nutes?? If that's the case........MJ is a heavy feeder....give it a 1/4 strength feeding, see what happens and go from there...... On the other hand...if you meant you used miracle grow ferts.....then do the flush, slowly pouring a few gallons of straight water through....then in a few days, start with the 1/4 strength nutes.....
Whatever you do....don't panic......you have healthy growth, so a little time to figure out the problem...if it really is one. Try small changes, gauge the effects and go from there. BTW.....why distilled water? Unless your tap water is god awful, I'd use it......many minor elements can be found there..... with distilled and a non hydro fert, I'd worry about calcium deficit.......go with the distilled as a final flush if you want......
Maybe someone with a little more soil expertise has a better idea.......I'm a hydro guy myself......but I think I'm right about it needing some nutes. When it comes down to it, most of the nutes in potting soil are used up in the first month and it becomes hydro anyway....meaning all the nutes are supplied by the solution....... so later on, you might need an additive for all the minor elements.......or switch to a hydro nute that's more complete........

Best of luck, my friend....

I would be careful about the pot size too. If your plants get over 20" tall, you will run into trouble with 1 gallon pots. I had 28" plants in 1 gal pots before and I had to water like every day. Also, I ran into trouble with my feeding too, there was a very fine line between under fert and over fert.
