My fan is getting hot, is this normal?

I just finished setting up my new flowering room, and this is going to be my first time using my HPS. I got a 600w electronic with a cool tube and a 250cfm inline squirrel cage fan. I also have an A/C unit next to the flowering area cooling the space so that my passive intake is cool air. I'm using the DIY Zen carbon filter from the DIY thread also.

Anyways, I've been testing the temps in the room with the lights, fan, and A/C and it gets around 78-80 with the room closed and up to 90 if it's open too long (not venting properly).

Finally...my question is, is it normal for my squirrel cage fan to be getting hot? When I touch the metal it's pretty damn warm and the engine part of it is pretty hot. The wires aren't hot, but i'm wondering if i'm overpowering it with the cheap DIY filter? Or do fans just get that hot normally from blowing hot air for so long? :leaf:
