Chronic Clone #8: Day 50 12/12

Flower box with the oscillating tower fan put back in. The Hermie Afghan [Francine/Frank] was drowned today while the lights were still on and then put in the dark for at least the next 72 hours.

Looks like I will be busy for the next 45 days. :weed:

Both of my 2 new seeds germ'd already and got moved into root riots today. :hump:

Minor catastrophe today as I tried to remove the seed casing from my Il Diaolo Auto seed and pulled the entire taproot out of the root riot plug. I filled a #2 smart pot with pro mix, wet it down with bioroot and snowstorm and buried the root riot and tap root deep, then sprinkled some dry pro mix over it and sprayed it down with the spray bottle. I am hopeful it will take off but if I lose a freebie auto seed no big deal.

In other news, I cut a sugar leaf from my CH#8 today, at day 52 of 12/12, and already see a few amber trich's, 90% cloudy, and maybe 5 - 8% clear. Looks like day 56 will be the the start of the drowning/darkness, depending how long the premature/hermie afghan takes to dry after I cut her out of the drowning bucket tomorrow. The drowning/darkness/drying room is all done in the same downstairs bathroom so I need to time the uninterrupted dark/drowning period with the drying times of each plant.

Pics later tonight, or perhaps tomorrow after I cut and hang the hermie.

Too drunk to label pics with snagit tonight.

........
i love your updates man but every tiome i come to the thread it takes me about 10 mins to load the page with the huge pics on theri, ill still stop in but it takes to long for me to let it all load.
That sucks for you, as I was just going to post a bunch more pics. Just open another tab/thread while it loads. The photo upload/posting system built into these forums is terrible, as are many other things on this forum, so you will have to deal with my full size photobucket pics. I hate threads with clickable thumbnails, especially if they open a new tab/window for the image.......
Sorry if I came across as rude, but I was mildly drunk. :-P

This is basically my photo album at times, so my IRL friends can stay up to date, especially when I am too lazy/buzzed to type words. I get paid all day to post on forums and answer emails so sometimes I am a bit lazy when I get around to posting here.

I think she will get drowned tomorrow and put into darkness when I cut the afghan/hermie to hang and dry. After 3 days of darkness, under water, I expect she will finish pretty dank (and right around 8 weeks). The other 4 chronics following her in the flower box will hopefully spend closer to 9 weeks before harvest.

I put the 150hps back into veg to cover more square footage with more lumens and hopefully help induce a bit of stretch into the wonder woman and other indica dominant strains in veg. It also kicked the temp up to the upper 70's and low 80's for veg.

A bit of weirdness on the Wembley. :?:

I moved the clip-on fan to help cool the 400w mh batwing.

Flower at the end of the day.

That Cronic is looking good!
I just smoked a sample piece of it, that I cut 2 days ago when I drowned her and put her in the dark room, and was very impressed. I can't wait to to open the room tomorrow, chop her down, and hang her upside down. :weed:

I just uploaded a few pics from two days ago and will post them later today, with pics from yesterday's premature CCOB training of the wonder woman and her transition to flower. I wanted to veg her a bit taller before the training and flower transition but I have a 3 week hole in flower already (because the CCOBs got out of hand in veg) and I want to get it down to 1 plant every 2 weeks. Some of the other chronics in flower still will go closer to 9 weeks instead of 8 weeks like this first one.

Here is the sample I took a piece of popcorn from this morning.

I do remote tech support for a software company. I answer emails, forum posts, and do remote support sessions to fix their problems when those other means fail.

Pics from 2 days ago:

4 days after transplant from #1 smart pot:

Chronic #8 being drowned at 53 days of 12/12. She was put to darkness about 8 hours later.

The premature/hermie afghan after 3 days in the dark/drowning chamber, before being cut/hung.

Pics from Yesterday:

Wonder Woman got trained and transitioned a bit earlier/shorter than I had hoped, but it is what it is. I am heading down there now to feed a couple plants and will be putting her on something to get closer to the canopy/lights for now. The retard 'kush' got topped, which should be interesting. :dunce:

Looks juicy! Do you notice much more resin than 72 hours ago?
I haven't really ran a true test/comparison of the same strain/clone, but the last bagseed from my first grow/harvest that spent the longest in the dark (and was also the first plant I cut and hung, with all fan leafs left on, to dry) looked/tasted/smoked better than the first 4 bagseed's I harvested. They definitely look 'more ripe' than they did 72 hours prior but I can't truly say if it is better than just leaving it under 12/12 for those 72 hours.

I have a few of the chronics in flower right now and will try to harvest one at 9 weeks with no dark period, and put one into the dark at 8.5 weeks (if I can remember, when it comes time). I am not sure how easy it will be to test because I am also wanting to test 2 of these chronics with, and without, Gravity and Purple Maxx. I am pretty sure I want to use HCO's Snow Storm Ultra all the way from veg thru flush, but I am undecided if gravity and purple maxx are worth their outrageous prices.

I am busy tonight trimming up my afghan/premature/hermie Afghan and the yield is going to be meager. On the bright side I should get to make some more QWISO hash with all of the popcorn and trim. :hump:

5 bagseed harvests in December = 15 grams dried trim = 0.5g of qwiso hash (using 70% iso alcohol).

It scraped up very bonde/brown but became very dark after a quick squeeze in some wax paper.

Today:

Flower (+Flash)

Veg

Only 4 more days until I soak another seed to germ.

I am packing a bowl right now with the last piece of QWISO hash in the middle of some schwag.

Premature/Hermie Afghan 5 days hanging, started trimming but still wet/sticky.

Chronic #8: 2 days hanging.

She was the sexiest seedling I had ever grown, until I topped her......

She is finally starting to recover and I can not wait to transplant, train, and flower her.

The topping takes a lot out of them, until they can recover fully, but the extended veg time and CCOB cages should make up for it by the time I finally find my perpetual harvest groove.

I expect lots of hiccups running a new strain every 2 weeks. :(

Ya dude there is always hiccups, lol. but fuck it if you like smoking different strain than fuck it. It wont be to bad if you grow is custom and can adjust easy

My premie/hermie afghan almost ready for jars. 15 grams from the popcorn on the left and 20 grams from the 4 colas on the right = ~1 oz after it is a little less sticky. Enough to get by until the chronic is ready.

Flower

Wonder Woman filling her cage

Veg: Wembley will be transplanted in the next few days, and I will soak a new seed.

CH #8: 4 days hanging

I have to ask why hang them before trimming?
To answer that, I will just quote the post I made the other day in riddleme's flushing/drowning thread. In short: to slow drying and aid in curing.

......

My first harvest took 4 - 5 days until they were completely dry, in part because of my low humidity. The last plant I harvested, from my first grow, was left in the dark 72 hours then cut and hung whole to dry. It was the best tasting/smelling of my first 5 plants.

I had an afghan bagseed go hermie on me at day 62 so I separated her under her own light for an extra day. The next day I drowned her and left her in the dark for 72 hours after the lights went out. She sucked up half the pail of water when I removed her from the dark, so I am planning to give them 2 or 3 days under the lights next time while being drowned before they go dark.

After 5 days hanging she was still very damp and sticky. Yesterday had been 6 days and I trimmed most of her and hung the couple main branches and sampled a few pieces of popcorn in a bowl. The scissors were super sticky and coated with resin but I should have waited until today to trim them I think.

This morning it is still a bit sticky, especially the bigger ones on the thick branches, but it is just about ready for the jars. Premature, hermaphrodite, almost dry, no cure time, and it tastes better than the bag of my buddies homegrown I got the seed from. It tastes better than any of my first 5 harvested plants did. :hump:

I have a chronic 4 days hanging right now. It went about 52 days before I drowned her the last day of sunshine, and moved her to 72 hours of darkness. She should be smokeable and ready to cure in 3 more days, and I cant wait to sample her.
